He took what Horford was giving him, which was the 3 point shot.

I can't come to the conclusion that it was a bad shot.  I know that as it was becoming clear that he was going to get a very good look at a three, that I was scared xxxx-less.  I was not thinking "oh good, he settled for the 3".

I don't actually think Butler should get blamed for taking that. For one, it was an open look. Two, lets be honest Butler was the only reason Miami nearly won that series especially with how he played the last two games. Everyone else was either super inconsistent or struggling with their shot. If Butler settled it, Boston then comes back on defense and gets set and you're not guaranteed to score there either even if you "settle it".

Now one thing maybe Butler could have done was keep going and try to drive. Horford was on him but no one else was behind Al. Even if he gets stopped he may have been able to at least draw a foul. Tatum and Brown were close but no guarantees they'd be able to come close the gap in time either.

It was a bad shot. Running into a 3 is very hard to do.

It's fine to go for the kill, but he had time to work for a better shot.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Yeah, he's no Kemba when it comes to that kind-of shot, but I understand why he did it and he 'deserved' the opportunity to try and win the game himself. He was finishing 48 straight minutes of play. I'm sure he had zero desire to go to OT. Definitely out of his comfort zone, though, which is why people are criticizing him.
