Shout-out to KAT: he’s hanging out in the stands chatting with some friends and tons of kids are running up for selfies. And, after a 20-point loss, he’s got a huge smile for every kid who comes up to him (and they’re all wearing green). #classact

Class act? Or representative of who he is as a player.

Minnesota were only half a game behind Denver for an automatic playoff spot.

As the leader of his team, he’s all smiles after being trounced and put in a very average performance against a Celtics team without Horford and Rob Williams leaving the game early.
I struggle to see this as actually worth criticism. Absurd levels of reaching right here.

Also, he was the only thing keeping them remotely close to begin, before we just started doubling him. He was still their 2nd leading scorer, leading rebounder and 2nd leading assist-getter. Lots of blame to go around when you get destroyed.

I can understand where you are coming from but my opinion is based on his talent.

Towns had 4 rebounds…4.

This Celtics team have always struggled against big men and he just hung out on the three point line. Towns struggled to post up Grant Williams and only got to the line twice.

My biggest issue is still with Towns’ defensive effort, it’s pathetic for someone so talented and athletic.

Townes has long been known as having elite level talent coupled with a lukewarm appetite for competition. I thought he had become a tougher competitor this season, but not sure.

If you want to discuss whether Townes is a "class act" , I would refer you to Minny's recent blowout of the Lakers, where Townes openly taunted and laughed at LA's on-court struggles during that game. Obviously, I have zero sympathy for the Lakers, but Townes behavior was unacceptable vs any opponent as far as I am concerned. Then again, we see classless acts every season in every sport like players  scoring a tough basket and then strutting around the court, pointing at themselves and gesturing to the fans to worship them by making more noise.

How is on-court behaviour any indication of class compared to his routine good acts off-court? It's not like he's KG levels of unacceptable on the court either.

Not sure Towns' taunting of Westbrook is what I'd choose to go at here.  Westbrook has a well-documented history with Beverley and KAT was taking up for his teammate.

And yes, signing autographs and smiling for fans is classy.  Those kids will remember meeting him for the rest of their lives.  I wish more of these guys understood the impact they can have on their fans.  Always been one of my favorite things about Smart, too.

I never understood this mindset that guys aren't allowed to smile after a loss, anyway.  It's such an odd thing to care about.  How does smiling for some kids suggest that the dude doesn't care about winning?  To be candid, I think criticizing somebody for not being a miserable sack is an unhealthy attitude.

Maybe this is to entice Towns to come play for Boston. Come on, Trader Brad, strike a up a deal to obtain him!  ;D

You get to sign autograph for kids who are Celtics fans and also detest the Lakers all you'd like!  ;D

Thank you. Exactly. This is all I'm trying to say. These guys are in the spotlight 24/7 and he could have told the ushers, hey, give me some space, I'm chatting with friends. He didn't. There was no national media hanging around; the only cameras on him were the iPhones of kids wanting their picture with an NBA player (my son included). He absolutely made their day.

If I were him, I would demand an immediate trade to the Cs. The crowd was yelling from tip-off and really didn't let up. It was a good night to be wearing green.
