Kyrie Irving Says Celtics Fans Booing Him 'Like a Scorned Girlfriend'

"I know it's going to be like that for the rest of my career, coming in here," Irving told reporters following a 126-120 loss to the Celtics on Sunday. "It's like the scorned girlfriend—just wants an explanation on why I left but still hoping for a text back. I'm just like, 'It's fun while it lasted.'"

I would say a more appropriate analogy would be an ex-girlfriend who becomes so much better off after he leaves and thanks her lucky stars that he’s someone else’s problem now.  The booing is her yelling at him to get off her lawn when he comes to the house.  No text or reasoning for the break-up is necessary.  She knew he couldn’t stand not being the center of attention.

Yep.  We boo because we can't get a restraining order.

Hah.  That said, I hope we don't see the Nets in the postseason because it's time to be over the boos, beyond a couple when he first touches the ball.  With Jaylen at the line with 30 seconds remaining, trying to ice what had been a terrific game, it wasn't the time to chant at Kyrie, it was the time to celebrate the win.

maybe a break while JB was shooting but no, the boos should be constant.  he quit on this team in the playoffs, played mental games with the "will he/won't he" resign here, disrespected the organization/city/fanbase as racist and in the ultimate act of pettiness stomped on the Lucky logo at midcourt.  He's a petulant brat that needs a slap upside the head.  what really irked me was the hug with Tatum after the game.

But what was there to boo yesterday?  He was forgettable and outplayed by Bruce Brown.  Last year the boos were fine, as he ducked us the first year after he left.  At this point, however, we should be entering the “Kyrie who?” phase of things.  He’s just not worth spending all that energy on.

you're welcome to your opinion on this.  my opinion is very different.  if he'd just skipped town after that playoff fiasco, that'd be one thing.  the stomping on the logo, that's a personal insult to the fans.  that doesn't just get glazed over.

Fair enough.  I admit I chose to skip going to the game yesterday because I didn't want to be around all the negative Kyrie energy with my kid.  I was really disappointed when the Nets let him play in road games again, because it knocked a Sunday afternoon game off of my potential options to attend.  He's a selfish moron, but I'd like to stop hearing about him.

I'd gladly kick him out of the league to help achieve that for you
