Schroder was awesome tonight. And as we get to the deadline I wonder if losing his offensive spark plug is a really bad idea…

I'd rather lose him for nothing this summer than give him away just to get under the luxury tax. I don't buy the rumors that we're desperate to move him for financial reasons. If a team comes with a good offer that helps us next year and beyond then ok, otherwise sayonara.

It really comes down to the opportunity cost of keeping him on, doesn't it. Brad has to weigh the value of him contributing to this existing team, which is currently costing us $5m or whatever it is and ending up walking away at the end of it, versus either the possibility that we may get a better deal for us financially, fit-wise or at the very least to "not lose him for nothing". The bean counters hate the concept of letting an asset walk away for nothing but sometimes we lose sight of the fact that while he is a rental, we are getting good value out of him right now.

I'm sure they're actively shopping him as a tradeable asset and I'm sure he knows it, but I don't think they will get rid of him purely as a cost cutting move - that would mean giving up on the season and the fact that our young kids are hardly getting playing time suggests they're not giving up on the season.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Schroeder or no Schroeder, we are not winning the title this season and that's the only criteria to consider regarding personnel moves.
If we can acquire an asset that improves our future chances at a banner, then make that move.
Sure, but Denis Schroder doesn't have that value. It'll be a 2nd rounder, so C's get more value from having him for the playoff push and better seeding.

Celtics need to come to stop playing the lazy and silly odds and come to the realization that they are not a good 3 point shooting team. Take only clean looks from beyond the arc... just enough to stretch the floor.

Continue to share the ball, (hats off to JT) and take pride in being a young, defensive minded team and they will make noise in the playoffs. In the East there aren't any monster teams to contend with.

The C's are one shooter away from becoming a dangerous playoff team...and that's with Smart as the PG.
