One doesn't suddenly become a bad shooter - I wouldn't judge him on two Summer League games. He seems to be pressing a bit. Once he feels comfortable his shots will fall. He is slow though.

He is an old rookie though.  His window to figure it out... not in his favor

I think two way guys have more leeway than actual contract guys.

My favorite part of this thread is that no one has corrected the name in the title.   ;D

It's a good thing the OP isn't a well known political figure. Otherwise, they'd be media wars (for months) over this spelling error.

Could be groomed to be crazy good sniper -Doesn't need the ball comes off screens and is 6-8 quick release..Not a bad passer.
The guy is not a chucker one of the best in the country..A sort of Kyle Korver type.
If you are starting a thread for a specific player, the least you can do is spell his name correctly. :P

Hauser in College (started 121 games in 4 yrs)

309 for 704 from three 43.9%

Yikes.

Look out G league this year.

He is slowww.... even down to his jump shot release
It's weird, his jumper seems a bit slower in the SL so far than it did in college.

Give him time. He was nearly a career 50/40/90 guy in college, he can shoot

I know its just been two summer league games but he hasn’t been impressive at all.

Finally a breakout game from Sam! Took him a while to heat up but hopefully the arrow continues pointing upwards. That was a great shooting display he put out vs Orlando.

I think the thing I've been most impressed by is how he has stayed in front of ball-handlers, especially guards, over the last two games.

Several times, he's stayed in decent position, but the guard bumped him and did an off-tempo floater/layup. He's got to figure out to contest those better if he wants to play in the NBA.

He's definitely not as terrible as I thought he might be on that end

Yeah I'm not sure why people were talking about his defence like he's JJ Redick on that end of the floor - there are scouting videos that show him being able to move his feet on that end of the floor while exhibiting solid defensive instincts on YouTube, you don't need to pore over hours of tape to tell that he can at least somewhat defend wings and guards. Now he'll never become a positive impact defender with how teams hunt for matchups in the playoffs, but it's not a huge stretch to think that he can someday hover around neutral with the right coaching and self-initiative to improve himself.

I'm a Hauser fan but he did look lethargic in the first two games. Maybe he was a little better in the second half of game two but not so impressive in those first two games. Tonight he really showed what he can do on both ends.

Ah okay. But I think my point still stands - it's not difficult to find really nice scouting reports of him that detail his defence from larger sample sizes, and you turn to those over two game spurts.

The first game he was terrible but he has improved.   Maybe he has his legs under him now?

I scratched my head wondering why he got a 2 way contract after watching him first couple of games, especially the first game where he couldn't guard a parked car.  He was getting caught in a lot of switches where the guards attacked him unmercifully.

Now I get it. Dude is a sniper. And played decent defense in game 3.
