For a tommy point, which city (where player's born) has produced the most number 1 picks in NBA history? No checking search engines obviously

Cavs?

You got the three in the row recently, LeBron, did they get Carr in the 70s? Does Daugherty count for the 80s?

Detroit?

They have 3 I can think of. C-Webb, D-Coleman and the guy taken before Dave Bing. Was it Cazzie Russell?

Edit: Looked up Cazzie, born in Chicago. He just went to college in Michigan. That makes 3 for Chicago with D-Rose and AD in recent times.

New York produced a lot of players but I am struggling for #1 picks. Only Kareem pops into my head. The others were later picks.

Mark Aguirre makes 4 for Chicago.

Sorry I was wrong, you're right Who & hardlyyardley, TP and my apologies.

I was misinformed, the answer I was told was Melbourne, Australia with 3 (Bogut, Irving, Simmons).

Apparently the trivia was 'since 1982' my apologies again for the mistake.

Wow, 3 for Australia. That is impressive.

I was half-wondering if it would be a Canadian city but I could only think of Bennett and Wiggins and had no idea whether they were from the same city or not.

Never even thought of Australia.

And none of them have been the best player in their class, sadly
