Checks out on trade machine

To GSW: Timelord, Smart, Thompson, 2021 45th pick
To Celtics: Wiggins, fillers, 2021 7th pick

Celtics draft: Scottie Barnes

Someone posted that TL could be traded on draft night. This has been my feeling all along.

And the Celtics did have a chance to interview Barnes.  A tough versatile defender in the mold of Draymond Green. But taller.  Solid ball handler and passing skills for his size.

To match salary and cost of doing business would be to take on Wiggins salary.   Wiggins is little overpaid but only 26 and could be a good third scoring piece with Brown and Tatum.  Defense/awareness improved last season.  Perfectly functional as the third piece and doesnt need the ball in his hands all the time

Lineup post trade

Horford/Brown/Barnes
Tatum/Barnes/Gwilliams
Wiggins/Nesmith/Green
Brown/Langford
Wannamaker/Pritchard/Yam

FA moves
Sign Wannamaker - vet min
Sign Jeff Green - vet min

It's a good idea but Barnes will likely be gone....I'd like Davion Mitchell for this team, but not sure it's worth it at that point, in fact, we give up too much if it's not Barnes I think, I'd want pick 14 also...also hope some of that filler is center material, otherwise you've left Golden State with far too many bigs...they'd have to trade some...

You end up with Wannamaker as your starting PG?  And Moses Brown your only back up at center?

No way.

I like Davion Mitchell also. Would pick either players with the 7th.   Both strong defenders.  Good for Stevens/Udoka

Not to jack the trade thread but wouldnt this be better for Warriors and C's. Wiggins, pick 7 and Wiseman for Beal and filler. Then trade pick 14 for TL and GW. Gives Warriors team playing bigs and another splash option.

Curry, Beal, Klay, Green, TL

Celtics trade 14 and 45 to Rockets for 23 and 24. Draft Trey Murphy and Tre Mann or some other combination. Pushes salary back for the C's keeps 2023 FA window open.

the first deal makes general sense for GSW and Wash.

The second deal, maybe, depending on who's available at 14.  if it's a better big man prospect than TL, maybe pull the trigger though I doubt a player fitting that need will be there.  If we can dump Edwards into that deal, more likely to pull the trigger.

The third deal had better have another future first from Houston to make that even worth considering and if dumping TL in the unlikely hopes of getting a replacement at 14, you're definitely not getting one in the 20's.  If anything, I'd push for 3 firsts in the future from what they've built up.  2 of the following: One of Houston's firsts from either next year or 2022/next year's Detroit first/2023 from Washington, 2024 from Brooklyn (the latest group of Cheatles will be moving on by then so should be a nice pick)/Houston-OKC swap pick from 2025.  they can add one of the more recent Brooklyn or Milwaukee firsts to go with those.

Interesting idea...but its grand

And I also don't think GSW would give up on Wiseman that quickly.   He is just scratching the surface

Looks pretty much like the trade proposals I've been making for months on here both before and after Walker was traded.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Golden State needs to shed some salary. Their luxury tax projects to be about $162 million next season.

Woeful point guard rotation. Would have to draft Davion Mitchell (Barnes likely won't even be on the board), or get someone like Derrick Rose with the MLE.

That's an incredible amount of money tied up in JT, JB, Wiggins and Horford
