Clippers: CJ McCollum, Nurkic, future 1st Pick

Blazers: Paul George

2021/22 Starting Five

Nurkic
Ibaka
Leonard
McCollum
Beverley

R. Lopez (MLE)
Covington
George
Powell
Lillard

Just an idea but for me it balances both teams out.

Not horrible actually.  Clips def need picks and depth.  TP for spicing it up with a non Cs trade.

Not bad. But I can't see any possible scenario where LAC trades Paul George. He was the selling point for Kawhi to come to LAC and they gave up their next 5-7 years of draft rights for him.

CJ would be a nice addition for Leonard and PG. Not sure they have the ammo to get him though.

I think CJ would fit greatly in NOP alongside Lonzo Ball.

Understandable, but in this scenario Clippers are getting knocked out yet again in the 1st round. Paul George is their only trade option and they will need to change up the team, otherwise they have wasted their window.

Nurkic helps the LA Clippers against big men, rebounding and a post presence option. CJ McCollum is 2 years George's junior and I think his game could expand without playing next to Lillard (as seen in the start of this season) and the future pick can be flipped for veteran depth.

Trail Blazers need wing scoring and defence, I also believe Lilliard would be the right team leader to get the best out of George.

CJ McCollum isn't good enough to net a Paul George. I wouldn't do that deal if I were the Clippers. I'd jump at it if I were the Blazers. Huge win for Portland.

I don't think it balances out the Clippers better either. Ibaka can't play PF well anymore so there is an issue at forward. Then you have the small backcourt. Not ideal. And it still leaves you with two stars who effect games by scoring but not by making their teammates better. So team chemistry is still an issue without a supporting cast good enough to create it (ball movement, playmaking) by itself.

I do that trade if I’m the Clippers.  George is definitely the best player in the deal, but CJ is a couple years older and Nurkic is a definite upgrade for them at the 5.  Plus a 1st on top of it.

The George/Kawhi pairing has underachieved.  They need to try something else before Kawhi walks

If the Clips will lose today, they may become desperate (especially since Kawhi has a player option). Obviously, Kemba is overpaid. That said, he may be the best player they can realistically get. I mean, he was an all-star starter for 2 years in a row prior to this season. Basketball-wise, he's still a good shot creator out of the PnR. If the goal for the Clips is to win a ring no matter the cost, then Kemba fits the bill.
