I didn't mean this as any kind of mock Hayward thread. God knows we've had our own share of injuries over the years. I would never wish injury on anyone.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It sucks.  You guys realize that he initially tore up his ankle trying to help us win?  He missed the birth of his child and came back way too early for our benefit?

Yeah, this sucks for him. The worst thing he ever did was sign with us because it basically ruined at least 2 years of his career. Even still, he tried his hardest to come back from his last injury and help us in the ECF; and he deserves a ton of respect for missing the birth of his child to do so.

Not a great response here, but we are actually a tame crowd overall compared to something like Cs Twitter. Hoping the Hayward’s aren’t reading comments over there.

It's a shame the dude just can't stay healthy anymore. I think we cursed him or something, because he barely missed games before signing with us. Regardless, he earned a lot of my respect when he rushed back from injury and missed his child's birth to play for us. Anyone still attacking his character after that is honestly an idiot.

Yes, I feel for the guy. Injuries are something out of anyone's control. But these days people look at players as tools, as means to an end, that end being a championship. It's always been like that, but social media just magnifies it.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Of course i hope no one is pleased that someone (anyone) is injured. Sometimes people are pleased with the impact an injury to an opposing player has on a game or a series.  To say that this is untrue would be to deny the truth.

Hayward leaving the C’s screwed the Celtics chances to make some noise this year so I wasn’t happy about that.  But I don’t want him hurt and I hope he recovers fully and quickly. Same for Ball.

I cheered for him to get healthy when he was wearing green and I'll cheer for him to get healthy when he's not.  The guy was an absolute class-act.

It's too bad he can't stay healthy, if he wasn't so affected by every little bump and bruise he'd probably still be here.

Just the thought of playing in the Garden again sprained his ankle.
