Trading Rajon was the right move.

Drafting Yabusele instead of:
Malcolm Brogdon (36th)
Pascal Siakam (27th)
Dejounte Murray (29th)
Caris Levert (20th)
Malik Beasley (19th)
Deandre Bembry (21st)

Was the wrong move.
Not sure what this has to do with Rondo leaving, but sure, let's just randomly crap on Ainge's drafting in a thread that has nothing to do with it.  ::)

Celtics got a 1st round pick from DAL in that trade that turned into the immortal Dancing Bear.

So there is relevance here.
Ahhh. Okay, I didn't make that connection. My bad.

It's still a bit of a stretch though.

Rondo was vastly overrated on this board then and apparently still is.  Rondo just wasn't very good because he was so incredibly inconsistent.  He'd go multiple games with stinkers and then just have one of those 30 point triple doubles and people would forget about the 3 stinkers he laid right before then.  He pretty clearly isn't a star or even a secondary star and quite frankly may not have ever been a tertiary star either.  His last couple of years in Boston, the team was significantly better when he was on the bench.  Rondo was quite possibly the most overrated Celtic this board has ever discussed, and that is saying something.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick
