At this point, there’s probably only one way for us to get the title this year (with luck) and it hinges on the Warriors wanting to subtract Oubre purely for luxury tax-savings:

Two trades:

Trade 1: BOS/SAC/GSW

BOS In: Barnes and Whiteside
BOS Out: 2021 BOS 2nd, 2022 BOS 2nd, Hayward TPE, Edwards, G. Williams

SAC In: Oubre, Edwards and G. Williams
SAC Out: Barnes and Whiteside

GSW In: 2021 BOS 2nd, 2022 BOS 2nd, nearly $70 million in luxury tax savings courtesy of the Hayward TPE
GSW Out: Oubre

Trade 2: BOS/ATL

BOS In/ATL Out: Collins
BOS Out/ATL In: 2021 BOS 1st, 2023 BOS 1st, R. Williams, Green

Aggregate effect of these two trades: https://tradenba.com/trades/55Hazeylq

Lineup (we go from the worst bench in the league to the best, while retaining most of our youth without needing them off the bench this year, and have an amazing starting lineup):

Walker/Teague/Pritchard
Brown/Smart/Langford
Tatum/Barnes/Nesmith
Collins/Theis/Ojeyele
TT/Whiteside

If LeBron or AD (or Mitchell or Gobert) are injured in the Finals, can definitely see this lineup winning it all (and can obviously see us overcoming the Nets, particularly if one of their three injury-prone superstars misses games).

We still have this ammo to add to a potential flip of Collins for a superstar if we do not win it all this year (or ammo to add additional youth in the future):

2022 1st swap
2023 2nd (DAL/MIA/HOU)
2024 1st swap
2025 MEM 2nd
2025-onward all firsts
2025-onward all seconds

Another move that may produce a championship outcome if Ball takes things to the next level under Stevens:

BOS In: Collins and Ball
BOS Out: BOS 2021 1st, 2021 2nd, 2022 2nd, 2023 1st, Kanter TPE, R. Williams, Langford, G. Williams, Teague

ATL In: R. Williams, G. Williams, 2021 1st, 2023 1st
ATL Out: Collins

NOP In: Langford, Teague, 2021 2nd, 2022 2nd, Kanter TPE
NOP Out: Ball

Probably not a title contender this season, but anything is possible:

Walker/Ball/Edwards
Smart/Pritchard/Green
Brown/Ojeyele/Nesmith
Tatum/Theis/Buyout Big
Collins/TT

2021 Madar
2022 1st
2023 2nd
2024 1st
2025 MEM 2nd
2025-onward: All picks

In the off-season, match the best offers for Ball and Collins, so there’s two pieces we can possibly flip for KAT (along with picks/swaps)? Re-sign Theis, Ojeyele and add some Brad Stevens rehabilitation projects (BSRP) on the cheap, and we’re golden next season if KAT wants out and Minnesota wants Collins and Ball:

Walker/Pritchard/Madar
Smart/BSRP
Brown/Nesmith/BSRP
Tatum/Theis/Ojeyele
KAT/TT/BSRP

2022 1st swap W/MINN
2024 1st swap W/MINN
2026 1st swap W/MINN
2027 2nd
2028-onward: All picks

Nobody gets something for nothing, but the following is a good exchange for KAT that is win-win for both sides looking for a change: Two first-round picks (2025 and 2027), three first-round swaps (see above), John Collins and Lonzo Ball.

Additional moves that can get us to second level?

Realistic?

SAC gets Oubre and GSW save $70 million in luxury taxes. The whole deal hinges on GSW wanting the Hayward TPE and picks for those luxury tax savings. Pretty sure nobody else has a TPE large enough to essentially liquidate the $70 million luxury tax they took on for Oubre around the time Klay got injured.

I cringe when ever I read the word realistic in regards to a trade proposal.  Often they are realistic for NBA live, sadly, not the real world
