"two really good wings and a lot of meh" is a short and to the point description of the team this season
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Of particular interest to me is the fact that nobody on this team grades out particularly well on defense, according to this chart.  Even guys like Smart and Tatum, who are regarded by many as elite defensive players, have been pretty ordinary this season.

The other item that strikes me is that it's time to take the chains off of R Williams.  He's frustrating.  He makes a ton of mistakes.  But he has an ability to impact the game and an upside that our other bigs just don't.

I bet the vast majority in the nba are pretty much “glued” to the 0 axis on defensive point avoided. It’s hard to defend in the nba nowadays plus as long as you are not way below the axis ( see Thompson) you are passable on that metric. Timelord looks ok but he is trending down this graph since last month.

I wish they used points rather than head shots. Where on the head shot is the player. Top of his head? Bottom? Right in the middle?

Where is Kemba on this chart?  I am curious how he is this year and how that compares to last seasion.

An NBA team with 3 players positioned well on a chart like this and the all the other players clustered around average or neutral really isn't all that bad.  What do you really expect?

Lakers, LeBron, Davis and meh
Nets, Durant, Harden, Irving, meh
Sixers, Embiid and pretty much meh

I recognize that our bench or support players have been below expectation but the real issue is losing Hayward and Kemba being on the mend.  Smart is a really good supporting player in general, but we haven't seen him in a while.

We are not a title contender as we stand but we are still a decent team with flexibility to building around a couple of very promising young stars.

Isn't that Kemba on the (1,-1) spot of the x-y axis?

If Time Lord got the minutes he deserved he would be further over to the right.

Which is brown and which is Smart?

Also need a comparison graph or two... For instance a top team and a bottom team would be helpful.

Smart is in the very centre - Theis overlaps his face.

Brown is all the way out to the far right, indicative of his amazing year
