Jay King: Brad Stevens said the last group that played pressured the ball, communicated and shared the ball. “If our team can play more like that last five minutes, we’ll be as good as we can be. If not, we’ll be average.” 19 hours ago – via Twitter ByJayKing

Basically praising the 3rd string unit team basketball on both ends. And indirectly taking a shot/challenging the 1st unit

This should fire up the 1st unit.

Overall did Brad go overboard with this comment?

Is he trying to get blood from a stone... as the real problem is lack of depth.

Some forum members also stated how underrated the losses of Wannamaker and Kanter have been.  Brad didnt have faith in/play Kanter and Ainge didnt want to fork up an extra year/salary bump for Wannamaker.

OK, Brad, then start the 3rd team, if you feel that way.

He also said he wanted to play guys who moved the ball and defended.

BUT.....

Only if they facilitate the stars (i.e. Tatum and Brown).

In other words, Brad was very careful not to hurt Tatum's feelings.  Heaven forbid.

Did you guys watch Tatum? He was so lethargic. Not all on him, but he deserved a big share of the blame pie IMO.  Stars have off nights. But the great ones make it up with extra hustle in defending, rebounding, etc.  Tatum was none of that yesterday.
