Danny’s had how many heart attacks the past few years? And we feel further from a title than we have in years. If he retires, would we be surprised? If he retires, who are some potential GMs we could bring in if leadership wants to keep Zarren as team counsel but not hand him the keys to the kingdom?

First thought: Pay Buford or Ujiri whatever it takes to steal them away. Who are some other hot assistant GMs out there who might be ready (who’s in charge of the scouting department of the Nuggets? Who’s been making personnel moves for the Jazz?)?

If Ainge leaves, we’d probably give Brad another year given his reputation but if not who are some quality coaches in mind? It’s no secret that I’m big on Tony Bennett, the defensive mastermind of U of Virginia (and still the NCAA player recordholder for career three-point field goal percentage at 49.7%, so far more of a player’s coach than BS) but it’s unclear if he wants to make the leap. Who else might be a contender to achieve a complete regime change?

I can't see any other route than promoting Zarren, unless we want Zarren to take his talent elsewhere.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.
