We have a superstar in Tatum. The league is now ruled by the players, who have friendships and they want their friends on their team. Why not face the reality that clearly Tatum and Beal, lifelong buddies who went to the same High School, want to play together? Clearly if we ensure we have the cap room for Beal in 2022, he’s going to join Tatum who has four years left on his contract right now. So how do we make some moves to accommodate Tatum/Beal?

By this logic, then you just wait for Beal to demand a trade to Boston and you’ve got Washington over a barrel when you need to negotiate the cost.

Hypothetical: Riley gets aggressive and Beal ends up in Miami this summer. Is Beal still clearly coming to Boston? Or is Tatum getting recruited to south beach?

They’ll be waiting four years. Who has the patience for that? More likely Riley makes the move, Beal opts out in about a year and then joins us.

That said, my hope is that Beal forces a trade to us this off-season while still retaining Brown. It would be nice to see a player force his way onto the Celtics instead of LA or NYC.

Is there any credible info that Bradley Beal wants to come to Boston ?

Gotta agree with Greenly - wouldn't it be nice to see a superstar force his way to the Celtics instead of jumping onboard with Mercenary Lebron in the Land of the Beautiful People ?  Be great to see a modern player have at least some appreciation for tradition (I get that this would be about friendship).

The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

How many threads have you started with Beal talks? How many more have you derailed with them?

Plot twist- Tatum and Beal end up in Lakerland with Davis, because Tatum's idol growing up was Kobe Bryant. And because Tatum prob gets sick of having second-round/ECF exits year after year

Reminds me of that guy a couple years ago that did the same thing with sign and trade ideas. A million sign and trade threads then turn most other threads into the same thing. Forget his name.

Dude, right where my mind is. Not loving the Celtics position right now. Not a crystal clear direction .
