Collins would be a great low-usage high efficiency #3. Nearly shot 60/40/80 last year. His defence is a work in progress but he improved significantly from year 2 to 3. Reckon he could do well here away from Atlanta.

He might think of himself as worth a lot of money though...
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I didn't watch the games fully, but I caught a little here or there and followed the box scores. I do think his fit now is awkward since they signed/traded for two starting caliber players that play his position. They can say anything they want, but that obviously isn't a great message of their faith in him.

I think he'd look great in green. I'm hoping Ainge is willing to give good value for him and that he's willing to consider a smaller contract if he plays for a contender.

When he was on the juice he looked as good as Tatum. Off it he is more JB level. I can see why there is a gap on the extention and how they couldn't meet on a agreement.

I must be missing something, because I have seen multiple posters propose using the TPE to trade for Collins. The Celtics no longer have attractive picks to add to the TPE, so why would the Hawks do a deal like that? There is no reason for the Hawks to worry about a $4.1M salary dump. They will want a young player or two and a possible pick. What about Langford and Timelord?

No where near enough for Collins.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Smart for Collins is a great trade on both sides. A Tatum, Brown, Collins treo has serious offensive potential, too much to pass up with all 3 under control for 4 yrs minimum (these days that's huge in my book). We miss Smart's D but Brown and Tatum are both plus defenders.

For Atlanta, Smart fits next to Young perfectly.
