Bogdan Bogdanovic will be either a Hawk or King. All depends on if Sacramento matches. Or does this become a S&T sending Bogdanovic to Atlanta?

Yes, Celtics fans, this takes them out of the running for Bogdanovic.

Oh well  :-[

So he signed an offer sheet with ATL? How much?

Not to beat a dead horse, but Kings could match and then trade to Celtics. They can't sign and trade with ATL under the rules, however.

Supposedly for 4/72.

If they match, they can’t trade him.

Disappointing because we could have beaten that offer, albeit with a lot of moving parts.  Then again, we don’t even know if the Celtics were interested in him.

4/$72, so $18 million per year

If the Kings match, they can't just turn it into a sign and trade. They could decide to trade him after 90 days (with his consent), but not right away.  From the CBA FAQs:

Quote from: Larry Coon
If a team matches an offer sheet and retains its free agent, then for one year they cannot trade him without his consent, and during that year cannot trade him at all to the team that signed him to the offer sheet. They also can't trade the player in a sign-and-trade transaction (see question number 92). A restricted free agent's resulting contract (whether with the new team or the contract is matched by the player's prior team) cannot be amended in any manner for one year.
I'm bitter.

Sounds like Bogdan hasn't signed it yet, and may be waiting on Celtics:

That offer sheet is also the only leverage he has to force the Kings to sign and trade him to another team. If the Hawks put a deadline on it, that could take some other options off the table for Bogdan.

Seems like a smart move by ATL.
I'm bitter.

Do we have any proof that Boston is interested in doing this? I know everyone here is for it (myself included) and some like Jared have speculated on social media, but I wonder if we're all getting ourselves in a frenzy for no reason.

No, just common sense.  We really could use another good wing, and he is almost a perfect replacement for Hayward. Actually better, since he is younger and would have better contract.

Here's a quote from wiki. Not sure whether it's accurate or not. Can't find a quote from the CBA.

Quote from: wikipedia
Sign-and-trade deal
Restrictions
(...) The receiving team cannot have used the so-called "taxpayer mid-level exception" in that season.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign-and-trade_deal

Larry Coon has that, too.  No idea why it’s a rule.
Turns out we can't go after Bogdanovic then. :(

We can, though. We haven't used the taxpayer's MLE, just the normal one.

The rule exists because you can only use the taxpayer's MLE if you are over the apron (otherwise it would be a normal MLE, you just didn't use all of it). So this just prohibits a team from going above the apron, using the taxpayer's MLE, and then dropping back down to take in a sign-and-trade. You would be fine to go above the apron, drop down, use a portion of the full MLE equal to the taxpayer's mini-MLE, and then take in a sign and trade, though. You just can't act as a taxpaying team (by using the mini MLE) and as a non taxpayer (taking in a sign and trade) in the same season. You have to pick one
I guess you are right. TP! 8)

All I found is that the taxpayer MLE ''cannot be used if the team has received a player that season in a sign-and-trade transaction''.

From what I read, there's no such restriction regarding the non-taxpayer MLE. At the very least, I can find nothing in questions 25 (salary cap exceptions) and 92 (sign and trades).

http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q92

edit: meh, whatever. Just saw that he signed an offer sheet with the Hawks

Sometimes the best trades you make are the trades you do not make. For the first time in recent history the Cs actually drafted players that are not undersized for their position and actually fill areas of need. Nesmith and Pritchard are going to contribute from day 1. Put them in there FORCE the lazy coaches to actually coach and play the players instead of collecting fat salaries and depending on established players.

Nesmith has a nasty wingspan he is not the usual undersized draft Danny makes who has to overcome size issues to compete in the NBA. Protchard has handles, grit, speed, quickness, and RANGE!! No need to trade any of these players for Bog.

Time to get real .... thime for the Jays to grow up and lead this team. You now have leaders in Kemba, Teague, Thompson, Smar. If that is not good enough then sign a seasoned vet that can get into the heads of these entitled players. Brad also needs to man up or you get rid of him and get a championship caliber coach. You do not do these then you end up just paying all these players and end up underachieving.

could the kings match the offer sheet

Celts get the TPE from the Hayward signing.  And then trade for Bogdonovic?

I still think we need a capable wing who can shoot and ideally create for others.

Theoretically, we could still get the TPE and trade with another team even if it’s at the trade deadline.
