The important bit is that the Celtics get 5m lower compared to the luxury tax.

Gordon Hayward trade may free up even more money.
He will likely opt in for 34m.
Then we trade him for Myles Turner 18m + Warren 12.5m.

Pacers get a homegrown player for a year and move on from the long term salaries of Turner and Warren.
If Gordon gets healthy and looks great they can sign him to an extension.  If not, they just move on with 30.5m of salary cap space freed for a new free agent.

He can no longer opt in. He’s a FA.

I also feel like this was a bad deal. 76ers got out of Al and picked up Green and Ferguson for their 1st in 2025 and a 2nd. Kanter was indeed cheap and serviceable. Then on top of that Grizz flip Kanter for a backup player of need. Like why didn't C's do that instead of two 2nds? There better be something involving FA coming. If this is just going hard at avoiding the repeater tax it's lame.
