Given that Kanter picked up his option, we have 4 guys who can provide cover at the C position: Theis, Timelord, Kanter and Grant. Unless we trade one of the first 3, I really don't think we need to sign another C.

Nice! So we'll continue to get wrecked by Adebayo, Giannis, etc. in this conference while Kanter sits against most of these teams because he happens to be unplayable against them  ::)

Not to hate on Kanter btw, I like him. But it's not exactly ideal that it seems the teams that are "bad matchups" for him are literally the teams we need to beat in the playoffs.

I really hope we can reunite with Baynes. Someone that can actually play against everyone and is good on both ends.

I'd trade both rw3 and Kanter for 2 guys who can actually play...like wood and turner to add to their. Gw is a pf

I agree.

Theis is BY FAR the best centre on our roster, which isn't saying much given that Theis is really a fringe starter.   Right now I couldn't even classify Kanter and RW as "good backup" level guys.  I think of both as passable backups at best, at their current point in their careers.

And Grant Williams is a PF, I agree.  I don't like seeing him at centre except maybe when used sparingly in situational small-ball lineups.

The optimal scenario would be to bring in a genuine starting calibre centre and then bring Theis off the bench - here Theis  would be better then most team's backup bigs, wold have the flexibility to play either front-court position, and his tendency to pick up fouls at alarming rates wouldn't be as problematic when he's coming off the bench in less minutes.

guys "who can provide cover at the C position" is exactly the problem. We need a difference-maker at Center to win titles.
Just trotting out mediocre players to "cover" us ain't gonna get it done.
