I love their chemistry and togetherness...no egos anywhere in this team. Night and day from last year when the team just oozed frustration and unhappiness.

Yep. Last season as soon as adversity hit Kyrie bailed. Kept shooting like 6-22 and was clearly checked out. Wasn’t encouraging teammates either and frankly I think guys gave up on him too (notably Jaylen).

Kemba is also so much easier to root for

Ainge deserves a ton of credit. It could have been a disaster when Kyrie, Rozier, Morris AND Horford left but he got Kemba, Kanter and didn’t make a (stupid) major trade. And here they are in the ECF with a solid chance at reaching the Finals.

Speaking of Jaylen, here's what he had to say about Kemba:

And it's funny how Kyrie is trending on Twitter without even playing

Addition by subtraction id always say...these players departing opened up shot opportunities for the Jays, and GH with Kemba even dropping his FGA /game.

Crazy how a year has gone by since they got rid of two headcases, a smartmouth, and a washed-up has-been and back to the East Finals the C's go...

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It really is amazing - we lost Kyrie, Horford, Baynes, Rozier, and Morris (and essentially Hayward to this point in the playoffs) and basically replaced them with Kemba, Kanter, and Grant Williams; yet, here we are in the ECF. That really is a testament to how much chemistry our team has and how much they've grown (mainly the Js and Smart).

Those 6 players - including Hayward - would easily be a solid playoff team in either conference and we've somehow gotten better w/o them. Really hoping to pull Hayward back to our side very soon, though!

Yes today was some long over due compensation for the heart breaking 2018 game 7 defeat against the Cavaliers in the ECF

Let's now reboot for a match-up with the Heat
Erik Spoelstra is another astute coach

Think Game 1 and Game 2 might be too soon for Gordon Hayward but hope he might see some minutes off the bench in Game 3

I actually miss Baynes a lot. Timelord + Theis have done very well to this point, but if Baynes was there I just feel our team would be so complete. Baynes can actually do well and defend well against a lot of the bigs in this league, and it's not always a "matchup thing" with him like it is with Kanter and others.

What goes around comes around. From the beginning of the season (almost a year ago):

"While Walker was heating up early in the fourth quarter, Jaylen Brown rushed down the court and misfired on an 18-foot jumper with time off the shot clock having barley expired.

Brown would had been chewed out in a the past for a decision like this, but instead, he received encouraging words from Walker.

“Brad (Stevens) had an aneurysm and Kemba’s like, ‘You’re good, bro, just keep playing,’” Brown said. "

Also it was funny when Kyrie before last year's deadline suggested they add a "14 or 15 year vet" to the team to add leadership and experience.

I'm so glad he's gone. Subtracting Kyrie feels like an addition of 1000+  :P

agreed. a great individual talent, but not a great individual.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah. I think Lebron deserves some credit honestly. Somehow he was able to put up with Irving it seems despite everything. Kind of reminds of me how Tomlin and the Steelers dealt with Antonio Brown all these years even though it looks like he's been a headcase for a while. Talented players, but with big egos and attitudes.

Oh yeah, Baynes I miss for a number of reasons. Firstly, he was a legit 260lbs banging big-man, secondly he was Australian ;D

I just miss Moose because he was a fun guy to root for. Still think with his passing and offensive rebounding he deserves a shot on a team - just not us. He's still 30 years old!
