Shocking that the 51st pick in 3mins in his second game didn't look good
Now! Now! "Sarcasm is angers ugly cousin" and I wasn't criticizing just reporting unpleasant circumstances.
I truly felt bad for Tremont. In his last short stint he did very well.
Reporting without context can be misconstrued.
You might have pointed out that Tremont was put out there in slop time with a
very unusual (and tiny) lineup consisting of himself, Carsen Edwards, Romeo Langford, Javonte Green and Semi Ojeleye!!!!
That lineup not only has never played together in an NBA (or G-League) game, but possibly has never played together even in practice.
They clearly spent the first few possessions just trying to figure out who was supposed to be where and doing what. They finally only settled down for the very last couple possessions and then, as quick as their stretch started, it was over.
Also, no big man was on the floor, with Semi playing the 5 and the biggest problem that unit had was no defense in the paint.
The way you 'reported' this implies that it was all on Tremont for 'struggled'. But Romeo was on the floor for this stretch as well. If one didn't have all of Romeo's minutes from earlier in the game one might have asserted that he, too, 'struggled'.
The point being, offering any sort of assessment on how a player performed based on being thrown onto the floor for less than 3 minutes of garbage time with a very bizarre 5-man lineup who's only real purpose is to run the clock out is silly. This tells us nothing about the players put in that situation.
