It also doesn't hurt to have somebody who can get you an easy (or tough) bucket down low. As far as guys who can score around the hoop and grab rebounds, he is about as solid as they come...for a super discount price, too. Al has been about our only option for post scoring these past few years and I would rate Kanter above him - at least at that skill.

We have four non-bigs who are fantastic at scoring on this team, but Kanter adds another wrinkle. We shouldn't look at his presence as a detriment. If nothing else, he should help open things up for those guys.
I'm down for it if I can get an NBA minimum contract

I'd give you a two-way at best right now. You weren't even drafted!  :P

Hayward can always re-sign for a smaller amount.

I think people would be pretty happy to keep Hayward on long-term at Marcus Smart type money, but wanting to pay your previous max FA less didn't quite work out for us this past off-season...stupid Horford and Sixers! If we truly want to keep him, we should be prepared to pay him market-value.

I don't think it will make for the best team to keep all four.  I think it really comes down more to 3, Tatum, Brown, Hayward, all natural wings.  Kemba Walker is really more of a PG (albeit of the scoring variety) and we need to keep him and Smart can do it all and we will keep him as well.  We simply can't afford to pay for 3 near max level wings.  It doesn't leave enough to fill out the rest of the team.

I feel that something will have to give.  The best scenario for the Celtics is probably to get a trade for Hayward for a legitimate starting level big.  I know there are issues with this regarding doing right by Hayward and also any trade is easier said than done but this would be the best for the Celtics.

You consider trading Brown or Tatum as well but only for very elite young bigs (such as when Davis was being pursued).  I think that type of trade is even less likely.

Still a good deal to fly up and down a basketball court a few hours every day! ;D
