Complete garbage analysis which attempts to compare Kemba's end-of-game numbers to regular season averages across the league, gives zero useful comps, and blames him for being on a crappy team that loses.

Kobe shot 39% /29% in the final 5 minutes for the first 15 years of his career.

Yeah, it’s really not worth putting any value in. Especially considering he was probably double teamed every time down if the game was close.

I’d say it should be one of Kemba, Hayward or Tatum, with Brown as the 4th option (like that shot he hit against Utah)

Brad's gonna draw up plays for Kemba, Tatum, and Hayward, probably in that order.

I think the Celtics will be pretty good in late game situations.  Brad has always found ways to get the Celts good opportunities in crunch time.
This.

Not really something we need to worry about with Coach Stevens

I thought the stats said Kemba as one of the top clutch scorers in the league last season?

Link: https://www.complex.com/sports/2019/04/most-clutch-scorers-in-the-nba/kemba-walker

"Remember Cardiac Kemba? That stepback against Pittsburgh in the Big East Tournament is still absurd. RIP Gary McGhee’s ankles.

This season, Kemba has the second-most Clutch Time points in the league, trailing only Harden and ahead of third-place Kyrie Irving. As Charlotte’s clear No. 1 option, he’s attempted the most Clutch Time shots in the league (124), too. He still flourishes in the mid-range, hitting his average late-game shot from 15 feet out.

The 28-year-old had a career season, making his first All-Star team and averaging over 25 points per game. Though the Hornets missed the playoffs yet again—sadly, Kemba’s prime is being wasted—he remains one of the most clutch scorers in the league."

with Irving out of the picture.... no crybaby stuff

I think folks are sleeping on Carsen Edward. I get that he is a rookie, but he has ice in his veins. From the tourney to SL,  he just looks "possessed"/"dialed in" when it's that time of the game

How about finding the open man. We have a multitude of guys to take late shots. Last year after watching Kyrie take all shots past the five-minute mark, I'm ready for some team ball.

How can everyone not understand Kemba played on a garbage team where he was the only real threat?

Amazing that anyone pays attention to trash like this.

Kemba, Hayward and Tatum (presumably) are all closers imo. I like our chances if the game comes down to the last shot

That dude Fox Doucette is legit one of the most clueless commentators ever. As of April 2019 Kemba Walker was ranked No.8 among the NBA's most clutch shooters by this website:

https://www.complex.com/sports/2019/04/most-clutch-scorers-in-the-nba/paul-george

He had the 2nd most clutch time points in the league, behind Harden and ahead of Kyrie.

And here, from NBC Sports Boston:

Quote
Walker scored a career-high 25.6 points per game last season, but the most impressive part of his offensive performance might have been his play in the clutch.

According to NBA.com, Walker's 175 points in the clutch were the second-most in the league last season behind Houston Rockets guard James Harden's 192. The league's stats page defines a clutch situation as the last five minutes of the game with the score being tied or one team has a lead of five points or less.

Personally I'm not worried about Kemba scoring in the clutch. He'll be fine and unlike Charlotte he has a lot of other options around him so he can't be trapped.

I go with the drawn up play. I enjoy seening those more than an ISO or simple pick play. Also feels like a drawn play really gets the whole team into the role/belief that they are still apart of closing  (unless the guy is Irving).

This.   Kemba will be just fine scoring down the stretch.  for the doubters -- think of how the stats back up his clutch performance last year on a team lacking any real talent besides Kemba.  Now, put him on the C's with Hayward, Tatum and Brown and other teams won't be able to key in on him.  5th man on the court could be Kanter, who's an offensive threat, or even possibly Carson who's looking like a prolific scorer in the making.

I worry more about our defense in crunch time than our scoring

lol how funny, I just posted literally exactly that about 2 or 3 posts up haha

I agree that this commentator seems utterly clueless, sounds like he's probably going off stats massively skewed by Kemba's early years in the league before he became the star talent he is today.
