As the greatest executive of all time?

Pops/Buford are also good, but their success was more reliant on Duncan. They were forced to trade Kawhi due to bad faith and dispute. Jerry Kraus' success was also more reliant on MJ. After the dynasty, he failed to replicate his success.

Only Red and West can consistently rebuild a team from scratch and turn them into championship contenders.

This move was orchestrated under the nose of an army of press and rumor mongers.
And now we have two genuine all stars with values playing in LA's back yard.
With Jerry West and Doc Rivers who has coached his share of stars. These two players just wanted to get back to California and play basketball. Can't think of two players that are so compatible in values.
.The Celtics could not pull this off after Kyrie poisioned the Celtics rebuild.
Fitting justice to have LA challenged in their own back yard--

-I have liked Jerry Wests game since i was a skinny kid with a jumper and we always seemed to beat those Lakers.

I don't know if you can compare them when Red's time was so long ago. Would Red be as successful in the modern era? Would West be as successful in the period that Red dominated? I don't know if we can compare them.

But Red did it for us, so he's better ;D

Nope,  5 of LA Titles came from Minneapolis;is Lakers,  the LA lakers have 12 titles, where as Red was involved with 16 out of the 17 here all in Boston.  So no, he has not surpassed Red.

But he is clearly second, a shrewd talent evaluator, and trader.
