This alpha or batman stuff is nonsensical. History shows (Like 30+ years of history) that teams with at least 2 superstars win titles. That is why KD & LBJ make the "Weak" super-team moves they do.

Do you consider Embid, Jokic, Damian Lillard, Westbrook, or Harden alphas? because none of them have proven to be the best player on a championship winning team.

An alpha like Kyrie on team with lesseer talent like BOS? Meaning he puts up good numbers but eventually gets bounced in 5 or 6 games? Yeah, he did that before.

An alpha like Kawhi who looks to be carrying a team with one superstar to a championship? Sure....if the the other team's best player gets hurt.

This alpha stuff makes no sense because nobody is winning championships without at least 2 superstars. See the GS......

Don't look so unbeatable without the other superstar, huh? We exposed them in 2016, that they had to grab KD to begin with.

I was in the boat before that trading for AD if Kyrie left is extremely risky, but I am slowly moving to the realization that a team like Rubio, Brown, Hayward, Horford, Davis is a serious contender. A floor general like Rubio might even make more sense than Kyrie if that makes sense. Even if AD leaves and we traded Tatum and Smart away, at least it will be a fun year. The alternative of growing and developing the youngsters doesn’t seem like it will get there either. In the NBA you have to make big moves to win, or get extremely lucky in the draft and get multiple top 20 players. I don’t see it as a given that any of our young guys ever get there. I think if you get AD for Tatum, you pull the trigger regardless what nonsense Kyrie wants to get involved in (can’t even believe that he wants to go to the Nets of all teams). Guy is seriously going to leave a title contender to join Joe Harris and Dinwiddie...  My hope is that at some point he’ll wake up.

I'd be happy if Irving came back but I've resigned myself to the fact that he's gone.

So, onto plan B and yes, that very much includes getting Davis. My wishful thinking is we can get D'Angelo Russell if Kyrie goes to Brooklyn. Russell would be ticked off with losing his point guard spot and ironically becomes the point guard in Boston.

Why all the love for D’Angelo Russell? I’ve seen his name pop up on this board quite often. Listen, if you guys hate Kyrie’s game, you’re going to absolutely hate Russell’s even more.

I just think of him when I think of a good replacement if/when Kyrie leaves. By the way, I didn't hate Kyrie's game at all and was a big fan of his. I'd be ecstatic if he came back and but I just don't expect him to. However, I didn't realize Russell had a bad series vs Philly

It was his first playoff series, so I guess I can cut him some slack, but man, 35% and 32% shooting is not excusable.

Hurts that the shooters around him like Harris weren't good too

Russell plays a lot more hero ball than Kyrie too (which a lot on this board moan about). It just so happened that he heated up playing against us in the regular season.

The more I think about how the season went down, outside of Lebron who is still a terrific playmaker and scorer, I don’t think any superstar would’ve succeeded on this team this year given the collection of talent and egos. Not even Kawhi or KD.

Real sacrifice is doing what Lowry and Gasol are doing. Siakam, for all his talent, still picks and chooses his spots and defers appropriately. VanFleet is playing the best ball of his life. Can’t say the same for any of our guys not named Horford and Smart this year (yes, including Kyrie).
