If he’s that good, why would he fall to 27?
-
If he’s that good, why would he fall to 27?
2 reasons:
1. Deep draft
2. we might have to trade up for him. Might be time to cash in a future pick we have
I don't think he's amazing, but he's a Swiss army knife who can add a lot to a contending team. He will probably play the role player job and do it well

But it’s not considered deep draft beyond top 10 or so.
Still I like the kid based on the tournament. Did not watch him outside that though.

As with most collage players, the one big question I have on DiVincenzo is if he can play defense at an NBA level. He does look like a plus defender in college.

according to who?
I'm well read on this draft. I know that you can get talented players even in the early 2nd. How is it not deep

You can, or you can get Frank Jackson, Davon Reed, Wesley Iwundu, Frank Mason or Ivan Rabb. Those were the first five picks of the second round last year.

I want a guy who can accept his role and can perform on the road, and passable BBall IQ to play team ball , those are must-have , above those you choose the rest

And? On a decent team that didn’t experience the equivalent of a mid-season bus crash, Ojeleye would not have played a single minute of consequence.

Athletically, he has the physical ability but it is the mental aspect that gets a lot of these guys because a good portion of NBA guys are decent to elite athletes and yet a lot of them are not good defenders. So I think he has the physical tools but does he have the mental attitude?

Didn't you hear? Ainge took him out to lunch recently. B.Good or Chipotle, no one knows, but we know what happened the last time Ainge took a draft prospect to lunch :P
-
I’ve heard the comparison to Bobby Sura. If so that would be a pretty good get at 27.
-
Never heard of the guy before that tourney game.

Celts need to move up for Divicenzo

He is a more athletic Brogdon. Rises up to the occassion. No way the Spurs let him pass them
Celts need to move up.
Divicenzo would be a nice replacement for either Smart or Rozier imo
-
Or he could become Shabazz Napier.
Dude was incredible in NCAA finals too, but not so in NBA.

Someone good is going to fall to 27th: DiVicenzo, Okogie, Robinson, Milton, Musa, Thomas...

He won't be playing against combine scrubs the are G League bound in the NBA. Also, a lot of the top talents did not even play. I like his game but I don't think he is worth giving up assets for to get him.
I see him as a Pat Connaughton type, who had a great vertical at the combine that suprised everyone and was a solid college player but was a bench NBA guy.

are you serious? what has this player done at the nba level
Did he also win anything at the NCAA level?
Donte won the ncaa championship and was the mvp. I think Donte will turn out to be more like a Brogdon

I think you’re severely overrating him based on his NCAA tourney performance

he did great at the combine. Not the game but the actual exercises

So did Christian Laetner.... That means nothing ask Bobby Hurley about his pro career I can name countless more. College means nothing once you go to the pros.
I think Donte is an NBA caliber player but if you honestly watch the combine vids of those games how can you sit here and post that you think that was NBA level competition?
He looks decent against those G league bound guys!!!!!!!So did James Young.
