Danny Ainge, live on the Celtics coverage with Tommy and Mike said that Rondo has a MCL problem. He said the surgery was for the ACL but that Rondo needed 4 weeks of healing for the MCL as well.
If I was listening right he might have said Rondo needed 4 weeks recovery before further surgery on the MCL. I wasn't sure but either way, sounds like it might have been worse than anyone reported anywhere.

He was talking about barbosa. Needs 4 weeks for MCL to heal before repairing ACL

Either way bad news. Thought he was talking Rondo. Thanks for the clarification

^ yeah was talking about barbosa
Leandro Barbosa, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, also has damage to his MCL and will have to wait one month before surgery.
Barbosa's torn ACL was bad enough, but the fact that he has MCL damage and has to wait a month before surgery only complicates his rehab after surgery. He's going to have to prove to NBA teams that he's healthy and is unlikely to be ready for the start of next year.

When a player tears an ACL, the MCL is often affected, as well [and there are usually a few weeks in between surgeries]. I am actually surprised Rondo doesn't have a problem his MCL - maybe that is why he was still basically able to play after injuring himself.
Either way, best of luck to both Rondo and Barbosa in their recoveries.
