Well he can get 2-10 years of prison time, so barring any drastic changes between now and Tuesday, he as good as gone.

Bring in Marcus Peters or Eli Apple...they're still available!

He was recently giving sage advice to Ja Morant, unfortunately didn’t take it for himself.  It’s almost too stupid to be only stupid.

Back to mediocrity the Patriots are, this season.

The Tennessee Titans are expected to sign free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to a two-year deal worth up to $15 million, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini.

The deal, which is expected to be complete over the next few days, will give Hopkins a base salary will be $12 million and could reach $15 million with incentives, sources told Russini.

If the Pats wouldn't beat that, they weren't really trying to land him.

Nevermind.  Sloppy reporting.

Hopkins is set to sign a two-year, $26 million contract with the Tennessee Titans worth up to $32 million in potential incentives, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday.

I'm just glad it's over. This has been going on way too long for a past his peak star.

Seems like a lot for Hopkins. I am not sure he is still a true #1 receiver. Would have been nice to add another good receiver.

Yeah, I agree. If it was a 1 year deal for $12M, I would have been more disappointed.

I didn't buy all of the Belichick/Hopkins lovefest rumors. Hopkins doesn't practice, and Belichick has zero tolerance for that. It was a non-starter from the beginning.

Two big signings yesterday.

Barkley agreed to a 1 year 11 million contract with the Giants, so a bit more than the franchise tag.

Herbert signed his extension and is now the highest paid QB at 52.5 million a year.  Lamar is 2nd at 52 million. Hurts is 3rd at 51 million.  Herbet had 133.7 guaranteed at signing which is a bit less than Lamar at 135.  Burrow should sign later this summer and eclipse all those numbers (though probably doesn't get over Watson's total guarantee of 230 million).

Today the Giants re-signed LT Andrew Thomas for 5 years 117.5 million with 67 m guaranteed at signing (most ever guaranteed at signing for a lineman).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'm not sure if this belongs in a new thread titled 2023 NFL Season...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38156107/some-commanders-players-concerned-eric-bieniemy-intensity-ron-rivera-says

What an embarrassing situation for the Commanders. Eric Bieniemy was lauded as one of the great new coaches, and instead of getting a head gig with a respectable organization, he landed a coordinator job with another type of organization. Apparently he runs a tough camp. Wow, talk about babies!

Trey Lance traded to Cowboys for 4th round pick. Wow.

Let the Trey Lance era begin?

Great move by Dallas. Puts pressure on Dak to perform and lets Trey develop over a longer time period.

Too much pressure in SF to win now. I think Purdy is good, and might be able to win a Super Bowl with three talented weapons and a very good defense. I think the Cowboys are pretty good, esp. because of Parsons, but are a tier below SF. I'm curious to see if Steph Gilmore still has it, and if Trevon Diggs can improve in coverage.
