Am I missing something with the Patriots game?
Converted a couple of clutch 3rd and 4th downs, some to Austin Collie...and the game-winner to Kenbrell Thompkins from a comeback win against the Saints. And the priceless face of Rob Ryan on live TV afterwards. It was the dreaded 2013 season where Brady had no receivers (except Edelman, who was in his full first-year as top receiving option) and basically dragged this corpse of a team to an AFCCG.
Like I said, what am I missing? It was a regular season Patriots win, that was of no consequence.
Totality of the day and how each game went down.
Two very exciting games withdramatic comebacks that culminated in wins.
Brady v. Brees. Pats down 4 with 73 seconds left and no timeouts. Vintage Brady driving them down the field and winning the game at the last second. One of Brady's greatest comebacks Regular season game or not, it was pure drama.
Then you have the nightcap which was a Sox playoff game where Ortiz hits one of the most clutch homeruns of his career to tie up the game and Sox eventually go on to win.
From an entertainment standpoint and the fact you had two different Boston teams winning in similar fashion, you can't ask for a much better day. And you have the adder layer of two of the greatest and clutchest Boston athletes of all time in the middle of it with Brady & Ortiz.
Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.
