Jaylen Brown has yet to publicly acknowledge Marcus Smart’s departure from the Celtics, yet Jayson Tatum wrote a lengthy social media post praising Smart.

Career highlight: 1973-74 championship, Boston Celtics

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

Nothing.

Should we check the social media of every player and coach to hold them to this standard?  Maybe guys handle their business and their goodbyes privately.

Understandable

I was only curious because of constant ‘leaks’ of players on the Celtics not enjoying each other’s company.

Perhaps there’s a grain of truth regarding Brown & Smart.

Brown and Smart don't like each other? I remember last year in the playoffs Smart was holding up his hand during their win against Brooklyn, and Brown ran up to him and stared at his hand together in friendly unison.

It's a bunch of nothing I would say.

Funny, I thought Brown recently referred to Smart as his brother.  I could be wrong of course, but bottom line, I think none of us know their relationship or the extent of how they feel about the trade.  Like/dislike each other, love each other/ fight like bothers…. Who knows? All we really know is they were teammates longer than the average length of an American marriage.

Can't believe that turned out to become a pretty memorable meme in some way worldwide.
