We wanting Lakers or Pelicans to win this?

On one hand, I always want the Lakers to lose.

On the other hand, I feel like the Lakers have more of a chance to give the Nuggets a difficult series, though neither has more than a puncher's chance of actually winning.

Got to root for the earliest exit possible for LA.  Best day of every season other than Celtics championship seasons is LAL elimination day.

So far feels like LAL is trying to tank this

  • GOT IT!!!
If you are the Lakers wouldn't actually benefit you to play Denver in the first round when you are at your healthiest? The longer the playoffs goes the more tired LeBron will get.

Maybe, but on the flip side the Lakers would beat OKC in 5 or 6. OKC has no answer for AD and the Lakers’ size

Not doing a good job. Also the idea of a tank here was absolutely ridiculous and Lebron and Davis have already played 19 minutes for first half

They had a dominant 2nd quarter.

First quarter though was a bunch of horrible misses, AD struggling and the Lakers getting punked defensively. Made you think

Do the Pelicans seem to be trying hard?

They certainly don't look like they want to win.   I thought they would put up a bigger fight against LA than this.  That Pelicans 2nd quarter was horrid.

Maybe both teams are trying to lose because they both think they can easily win the game against GS/SAC?   That would be insane though right?  No one would ever tank one of the play in games too risky.

I’ve become so accustomed to Celtics basketball that it’s so weird watching the Pelicans play no defense whatsoever.

Have to give Zion credit, he’s playing hard. Ingram and McCollum are nowhere to be found.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Lakers need to lose both play-ins games or win tonight's game (and then lose to the Nuggets).

Nah we obviously want them to win the Finals!

I've seen the story far too often where we write off a Lakers and/or Lebron team due to flaws, but then early in the postseason or something they catch a break and then go on some magical run or even go on to win it all. Same thing last season, "oh they're just some play-in team and their role players will be exposed", then of course they draw Memphis who lost their entire frontcourt right before the playoffs and make the WCF thanks to facing a Warriors team who were exhausted after playing an electric Kings team with HCA.

No thank you.

I'm fine with the Lakers winning today and drawing the Nuggets. I'm fully aware that with a loss, they could still be officially eliminated with a loss to SAC/GSW. But on the flip side, if they won that game then they draw a flawed OKC team, and then they could probably waltz their way to the WCF again. Again, no thank you. I don't give the Lakers any shot to beat the Nuggets either. Nuggets in 5 and Lakers eliminated before May this season.
