Yeah, makes sense. Giving up essentially nothing for a big to replace Powell.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Luka's going to make WCS look like a World Beater.

Quality move by DAL.

Good move by Dallas. WCS is underrated.

I am surprised GSW parted ways with WCS. He would have been really valuable for them next season.

So it begins: which team will make the best moves to contend in the playoffs?

Solid trade for Dallas.

He’s definitely worth a second rounder.

I wonder if Danny was interested. WCS is kind of a more experienced Rob Williams and could probably help the Cs.

It's moves like these that make you wonder what the true value of players around the league is. WCS for a pick that will likely be around 50? Wow.

I also wonder if this is one of those "you did us a solid by taking Bogut so we could get Durant a few years ago and we owed you one" type of deals.

Wow! I would have gladly traded our 2020 Nets/Knicks second rounder for WCS. Hope Danny has other targets in mind.

Props to Dallas! Good trade on their part.

Dang, all it took was a 2nd rounder? I would have pounced on that.

But I think it's also the fact that given our cap situation, we'd HAVE to send out a player to facilitate a trade due to salary-matching, even for someone who is cheap. Ainge might want to see a bit of Poirier more going forward to judge what he has, as well as seeing guys like Edwards, Ojeyele, etc. more in spurts. He could still make a small trade for someone like Bertans/Saric/Burks, etc., but I'm guessing he values Ojeyele's defense against guys like Giannis/Lebron, plus he doesn't want to just send Poirier away without seeing him in action a bit more.

If it was a good 2nd rounder, I'd understand it but Utah's 2nd is probably going to be around 50 or so.  I expect there is considerable cash considerations going to GSW.

hard to believe all it took was a late second rounder to get this guy.  was pretty high on him when he was drafted.

Yeah, i would consider giving our first rounder and one of the rookies to get him.
