Just for something to post about that is not Davis related I was thinking people might be interested in an all time great fantasy draft.

Ideally we would have 16 participants, each person will be put into a list and randomized, then the numbers of draft position will be chosen by random.org.

Draft will be done in a snake style where the last pick of round 1 makes the first pick in round 2 and so on.

Teams will consist of 10 players each.

The draft would be held over a couple of days when all participants are able to be a part in a reasonable amount of time between choices.

After draft is completed, participants will be put into a playoff style bracket based on draft pick numbers (1 v 16, etc) and will face off head to head until a champion is crowned.

The teams will face off in a battle that will consist of each team having 2 days to compose a strategy for the opposing team and will make the case as to why they should win. That gameplan will be PMed to me and I will create a poll thread with both teams gameplans.

Posters on the site can then debate the game and make their choice as to who wins in the poll.

At the end of 1 week, team with the most votes moves on to the next round.

So what I need is for enough people to agree to this so that we can move on to the next step, so post in here if you want to give it a go.

If we get numbers I'd 100% be down! This could be a fun distraction

Oh I'm definitely in.  I need a distraction between now and the end of June, bigtime.  Good idea Silky.

If we struggle to get the # of people we need to do this, because it seems overwhelming for people, we could also just do a draft the way RodyTur10 did with young players where you pick your top 3 and it takes a certain # of votes to get selected, but I like Silky's format better for this personally.

Also, while it would be less fun, if we struggle with numbers we could still do it with 8 people and have a legit bracket, and 8 seems doable.  Nearly halfway there.

We used to do historical drafts around this time every year on the blog.  After that first season, we would do all sorts of things to keep it interesting, like no top 5 picks allowed or just players from certain decades, etc.  It was quite fun, but was always a lot of work.

yeah, we can work with 8 or even in between numbers and have conferences and round robins...once we have people agreed, we can go from there

Actually, yeah, I created and was the commissioner of all those Historical Drafts. They were always fun. And a lot of work. We kind of handled awards differently than Silks proposed format which is more akin to the CB Draft playoff format.

First, I think we need to check with Roy and byennie as rules are if a game like this is going to happen, it needs to be approved. These type games could get heated and cause drama so they need to be approved.

I will PM Roy and byennie and get back to everyone. I will also volunteer to commissioner this and not play the game if Silk wants to play his own game.

In the meantime you probably need to get some rules in place. Especially if trades are going to be allowed.
