The umpire blows an obvious 3rd strike call that would have ended the top of the ninth. You just knew Houston would capitalize on that "error".

Can't blame the umpire. Our guys were choking all night long tonight

We should have been up loads of runs. Greinke looked like a dusty corpse out there and we let him off the hook.

Made the Houston relievers look a lot better than they are. Nobody wanted to swing aggressively. Looked like they were swinging through mud and reacting instead of acting.

Defensively looked indecisive too on a couple key plays. Eventually the pitching crumbled under the pressure. The Red Sox wanted to lose tonight and they turned in one of the worst gag jobs that I've seen.

Sox have 96 hits in 8 post season games.  12 a game.  Nuts!

I don't see Greinke slowing that down.

I worry we’re going to jinx it.  I’m expecting a Houston blowout.

Well it ended up being a blowout - but it took a Martin Perez special in the 9th inning for it to happen  :-\

Our offense just went AWOL today, I think we were 1-25 or something? Definitely a come back to earth game.

All to play for in Game 5. We can't give the Astros a chance to build momentum going back to Houston. I'm confident we can win there, with Eovaldi pitching. I'm worried about Sale for tomorrow though  ???

Sox are screwed. Even when Sale pitches well, they find a way to mess up.

13 straight innings without a run for Boston. And they somehow need to get 6 in 4 innings to have a chance tonight. I don't see it happening.

Glad the Celtics season starts today. That's all I can say about this Sox game.

Stick a fork in them, they're done for today. Cora better be prepping them to win the last 2 away.

The sight of seeing the cheaters in the World Series would be sickening.

And if the Dodgers get back in, welp

One of the worst three game choke jobs that I can remember in a very long time. We have gone from hot to beyond ice cold  and our pitchers choking in big spots with two outs. Sickening.

Cora’s magic ran out with this group. Pathetic showing.

The run differential has been 23-4 since Eduardo Rodriguez pointed to his wrist, after he pitched his 6 innings in game 3. Apparently the Cinderella story struck midnight when he pointed to his wrist.

Really horrible way to end the season. Of course, we all know that only one team wins its last playoff game, but this team completely checked out/choked/disappeared in the blink of an eye after Xander's homer early in game 4.

If you think about it's its been a microcosm of the whole season...they've been awesome in some stretches and abysmal in others. The standard deviation between a great and a bad performance has been very high for the Sox. Not sure if it's a mental thing or just karma, after Correa pointed to his watch in G1 we were awesome, after ERod pointed to his in Game 3 we were abysmal.

But overall considering where we expected to be at the start of the season I would still count it a success. Just hurts thinking that we were so close to the World Series but picked the worst time for the offense to go dry.
