This was when Ainge claimed that Doc was returning before all these 'sources' came out tha bushes. But I do hope Doc returns to coach tha Celtics.

I think this is damage control.   If Doc leaves us, then we lose leveraging power.   I think Ainge will let him go once the compensation is enough.  This is just to help DA out.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This is from the 20th of May.
Things have changed since then with Docs announcement that he'd 'rather not say' if he's returning yet.

I believe he's just saying that to make sure Danny brings back something for pierce that makes us a contender or keep pierce.
While we've got KG we need another all star player at a different position ie PF.
Rondo, KG, green, all star PF is good enough to run it back and hope that sully and Bradley have breakout seasons.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
