Happy Birthday, Larry!

A super star who played as hard as a guy trying to make the roster. He never dogged it. He left it all on the floor every game and then gave even more in the biggest situations. If I could have one guy to start an NBA team it would be Bird.

Nobody passes like this anymore.

He and Magic.

Quite fitting that these two were so close on the court and off.

LeBron does it well but not like these two.

One of these days the Lost Civilization of Mars will return to Earth and reclaim these two, lol.

Their games were OUT OF THIS WORLD.

I remember a play Magic made after he briefly came back from retirement.  He catches the ball on the elbow with a defender on him, then with his eyes follows a teammate setting up next to the basket, fakes, a pass to him, and the defender bites.  Except there was no teammate under the hoop.  The defender turned his back to defend an imaginary person while Magic casually drove in for an uncontested layup.  You don’t see that creativity anymore.

The plays these two made.....

In the dictionaries' definition of "Going Viral" there'd be a picture of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Can you or anyone here imagine these two playing in the Social Media era?

LOL.

Larry and his trash talking would’ve been amazing! Mics would pick up everything he said, especially in the bubble!

My All-Time Great Trash Talking (and talented) lineup:

C -
PF - KG
SF - Larry
SG - Kobe
PG - Michael

Can't think of a HOF Center (atm) that was a historically great Trash Talker but those four RIGHT THERE would probably send some players to the bench crying I'd bet, LOL.

I think once Kobe and Michael settled on whomever was "The Alpha" then their opponents in this lineup would be in for a LONG game of trash talk.

I reckon Sheed could be the 5th starter, but he’s not a HOF level
player. Maybe Charles Barkley at PF and KG at C?

Reggie Miller & Gary Payton off the bench too! It’s almost an all-time 80s & 90s team ;D

This is probably my favorite play of his career.  It ran through my head for weeks afterward.  He was old, heavy, and rusty but he looked like a genius on that play.  He couldn't blow by anyone at that point so he just manipulated players to get out of his way.
