Win or lose, Bama will not be #1 next week.

Also a terrific tackle break by Young.

The missed FG right before halftime and also the RB going out of bounds for Texas with 1:30 to go hurt. Left precious time and points for Alabama

That was still an awesome game overall. Great effort from both sides and the crowd/atmosphere was awesome too.

In other news, #8 Notre Dame is down to Marshall in the 2nd and look bad lol

This doesn’t surprise me.

Notre Dame is pretty overrated in my book.  Power to them if they beat Ohio State, but they shouldn't be the #5 team in the country to open the season.

Great finish to that Alabama-Texas game. I give Texas a lot of credit, hanging in there with a backup QB, but Bryce Young was just too much for them to overcome. The way he slipped that would-be sack and took off for 19 yards, and got out of bounds to stop the clock, was just pure talent and something you can't teach (and something that's really hard to stop).

One side note, about something that really irritates me in football, and this happened just before Alabama went for it on fourth-and-inches late in the game and came up short.

They were short on fourth down, and they were short on third-and-2, but the real problem on that set of downs was what happened on second down. I think they got 8 yards on first down, then completed a pass on second-and-2—and if that receiver had simply fallen backwards after the catch, he would've had the first down; instead, he made a move backwards, in an attempt to do a sort of end-around against the nearest defender, but he was tackled for basically no gain, and we all know what happened on third and fourth downs. It just bugs me so much when receivers go backwards to try to go forwards, because it usually doesn't work. You're almost always going to get more yardage if you just go with your forward momentum.

Appalachian State always seems to play good against the great opponents. Lost by 2 last week against UNC (63-61), pulled off some upsets like against Michigan in 2007, now they are giving Texas A&M fits.

Also, Notre Dame is losing 9-7 to Marshall with 7 minutes to go in the 3rd. I fully expect them to comeback and win but still not a good look. I never understood the hype with Notre Dame. They are a textbook punching bag for other great teams in the games that actually matter. Like even if they have a great year and make the playoffs you know they'll lose by 20+ to whoever they face in a non-competitive game. But they started the year ranked #5 somehow

Wow what a drive by Marshall! 94 yard TD drive

Notre Dame now down 19-15 with 5 minutes to go

Marshall pick 6. Up 11 late versus Notre Dame. Upset about to happen, though, given how bad ND has looked this year, maybe it's not an upset.

Down goes #6 Texas A&M! #19 Wisconsin also loses

What a game by Appalachian State. This team also went toe to toe with UNC and lost 63-61 last week

Michigan is on pace to do so, despite the spread being Michigan -53.
