Windler sounds intriguing.  Any player who gets comped to Bojan Bogdanovic and Joe Ingles is going to excite me, just because I really like both of those players.

He does. And he's possibly available with the #20 or #22 pick. I doubt that even if we do trade for Davis that we would be giving up all our 3 first rounders of this draft.

The Pels would already be adding at least 3 players in the trade plus the 1st pick, 2 second round picks and probably our 14th pick. that's 7 new players with only one going out.

Yeah, NO would not want 3 individual picks but they may ask us to combine the three to get as high as possible.

I would be interested how Windler compares to Herro Athletically.

I don't know about athletically, but Windler is longer and was a really good rebounder this season, plus he has a positive wingspan. Good indicators
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I would be interested how Windler compares to Herro Athletically.

Windler
Height 6’6.25”
Weight 196lbs
BF% 4.6%
Reach 8’8.5”
WS 6’10”
Lane agility 10.7sec
Max Vert 37.5”

Herro
Height 6’4.5”
Weight 192lbs
BF% 7.1%
Reach 8’4.5”
WS 6’3.75”
Lane agility 10.69sec*
Max Vert 33.5”*

 * he didn't test at combine so this is from UK pro day

Statistically its tough to compare a 19 year old power conference player to a 22 year old who was dominating at a small school. Herro has more room to grow and is likely to develop into the better over all Basketball player but I'm not sold that means he is the better NBA player. Both guys should be great shooters in the NBA and will likely max out as role players. At his size and with his length I worry that Herro will struggle to find a position to defend in the NBA. Windler is a bigger and much longer player who shouldn't be a negative on defense especially when matched up against other teams bench wings.

Maybe so. I'm not sure how high 20,22 and 14 get you, maybe to 9?

Update

Its a little bit of a loose rumor but it appears that Chris Clemons PG out of Campbell may be coming to Boston for a second workout. He is a small scoring machine guard in the mold of IT.

As a senior he averaged 30pts 5rb 2.8ast, he shot 36% from 3 on 11.8 attempts and 87% at the FT line on 8.6 attempts.

He wasn't invited to the combine but was at the G-League combine. Here is how he compares to other small guards (height with out shoes)

Clemons
Height 5'9”
Weight 188lbs
BF% 3.1%
Reach 7’8”
WS 6’2”
Lane agility 10.55sec
Max Vert 42”

Thomas
Height 5'8.75”
Weight 186lbs
BF% 6.7%
Reach 7’7.5”
WS 6’1.75”
Lane agility 10.49sec
Max Vert 40”

Larkin
Height 5'10.25”
Weight 171lbs
BF% 3.8%
Reach 7’8”
WS 5'10.75”
Lane agility 10.64sec
Max Vert 44”

Robinson
Height 5'7.75”
Weight 181lbs
BF% 6.7%
Reach 7’7.5”
WS 6'1”
Lane agility 10.75sec
Max Vert 43.5”

Im not a big fan of using draft picks on backup guards given that the role can often be fill for cheap in free agency but I would be excited to see Clemons drafted in the 2nd round by the Celtics. Looking at the measurement comps above and adding Phil Pressey to that list shows DA's willingness to sign diminutive point guards. Clemons was the leading scorer in all of D1 bball this season and in his 4 years at Cambell he scored less then 10pts only once.

I think that Windler is the definitely a guy to take over Herro given these stats.  I know Windler did not play against as good as competition as Herro but you can be assured  that he was doubled more.

Sleepers, including Windler:   https://www.lineups.com/articles/nba-draft-2019-sleepers/

This article mentions my favorite " why the hell isn't he ranked higher" prospect

Louis King

King
Height 6’6.75”
Weight 195lbs
BF% 4.8%
Reach 8’8.5”
WS 7’.25”
Lane agility 10.99sec
Max Vert 33”

We don't have his official measurements but King is basically the same size as Tatum who was 6'8.25" in shoes 204lbs with a 6'11" wingspan at the nike hoop summit.

In his Freshman season King averaged 5 3PA per game @ 39% and averaged 2.5FTA @ 78%

He was the ESPN #11 freshman in and class and made it onto the Team USA U20 team where he averaged 18mpg (more minutes then Huerter, Okogie or Langford)

In the NCAA tournament Oregon made it 3 rounds and in those games he averaged 16pt 4rb shot 67% from 3 on 6 attempts

In terms of positional value I can't see how a 6'9 20 year old wing who can shoot is not a 1st round pick.

Add

Jalen Lecque to the list of player to reportedly get 2nd workouts with the Cetlics.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Celtics "reach" and take him at 22. He is likely the most physically gifted guard in this draft.

The Celtics bringing a prospect in for a second workout is likely the strongest indication we as fans will receive that a team likes a player. Last draft season the Cs brought wings Jacob Evans and Bruce Brown, neither player was drafted by the Cs but this was likely caused by Time Lords surprise drop out of the lottery.

I remember the Celtics brought Bobby Portis in for a second workout, then passed on him in the draft. I'm not sure the second invite is indicative of much. In the past there have been players who asked for a second workout if they were disappointed in their performance at the first.

Doesn't mean they didn't like him; just liked Rozier more. Did Rozier come in more than once, I can't recall. He set records for speed tests I know at his Celtic workout.

I agree. I think he could be a good flash scorer off the bench, not unlike McDermott, who seems to have found his footing in Indy.

I agree, I'd rather just try to re-sign Larkin. I'd love that actually.  Also wouldn't mind Edwards with our 22nd pick, he could be special.

Yes, Rozier came in a second time as well.
