I don’t even really care anymore. Hard to consider us true contenders at this point. Really hope they can flip the switch in the playoffs.

Good news for the 2nd round pick, I guess, though.

How so?

Unless I am totally crazy, I believe we receive their pick if it’s not 31 or 32. It’s currently at 32, so we still need help from the Spurs to lose as many games as possible (along with the Pistons who are the current worst team in the league)

I'm more concerned about this team getting waxed in the first round than these reg season games thanks to their lack of discipline and playing lazy ball throughout post ASB. Feels like Ime's Oct - Dec games again.

Except Ime was teaching and the team was building toward something.

Joe isn’t an NBA level head coach, and the team doesn’t care about effort or winning.

Agreed. I miss Ime.

It all started after the permanent HC announcement, not good for the players and Joe himself.

Tatum was absolutely 100% fouled on that last drive...Smith Jr had his right hand on his back/ribs all the way, then got the final push and it threw Tatum off.

I don’t think so. Tatum didn’t even complain, and he always complains

Yeah, NO he was---watched it several times in slow motion.....but they got all the calls down the stretch to make it close.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Absolutely. Sigh.

This team can only change my mind if they sweep their first two rounds with flying colors. Otherwise, I don't feel hopeful of them.

I’m not sure what else they could have done, but putting the guy who would have been our 4th best head coach last year (Ime, Brad, Hardy) at the helm of a top tier contending team just seemed destined for failure.

We give ownership a lot of crap for not going all in, but this is the most money they’ve spent by far and not having a competent coach to lead that team was just dumb. Brad deserves some blame here for putting Joe in this position in such an important year.

In his presser Joe said that it’s “concerning that we aren’t always committed to winning the four things thst are critical to playoff basketball - turnovers, rebounds, second chance points and free throws”.

Losers. This is what you get for only deciding to play consistently hard for 1.5 quarters.

What a joke. Have every opportunity to regain the one seed, and we play lazy, entitled ball for most of the game.

I need a break from this team.

Yeah I need a vacation from this team too

Can you take Marus with you?

No thanks. I want to actually enjoy my vacation

We shot 12-42 for a whopping 28.6% from three tonight, but I guarantee you if someone brings it up to Joe he'll point to the missed layup at the end as "proof" of his argument that there's no difference in layups and threes.

Mazzulla on Celtics going 12 for 42 on threes on a night they had lots of success getting to the rim.

"The threes, people like to talk about those. Free throws, offensive rebounds, second-chance points and turnovers. That’s the game. That’s everything."

Called it.

It's almost like it's the same exact story every night but you're too stubborn and dogmatic to do anything about it. This guy is just too immature. He simply refuses to look at the evidence and let that impact his decision-making.

How is that not a shot clock violation?
Wondering the exact same thing. Terrible blown call. Tatum didn’t have possession. He was trying to save it from going out. Announcers missed it too. 🤬

He needs rebounders if he want to win the rebound category. We have an extra slot. Why not try someone out? Kornet isn’t the answer and obviously we can’t rely on Rob. We need an extra big - a PJ Brown type of guy if one looks at the last Celtics champion team.

He's also not wrong tho. The team hit 12 threes, the rockets hit 11 and only shot 31% from three. The three ball was not really the deciding factor. The Celtics basically played the rockets even or little below even in every aspect of the game.

Threes: 12 on 42 vs 11 on 35 for Rockets.
FT's: Allow 27 vs taking 21 (made 19 vs 20 for rockets)
oREB: Gave up 15, got 10.
Assists: Had 13, rockets had 27!
Turnovers: Generated 10, gave up 13.

Its hard to say its threes that lost you this game when a 15 win team won all the hustle stats.

Yep. Rewatched it. 100% a foul and the reason he missed it. I’m shocked Tatum didn’t complain.
