As much as fans here despise him, the Cs players seem to have genuine affection for him. It’s curious how a guy who seems to be chemistry killer also seems to be liked.

No need to worry about the nets come playoff time

No need to worry about the 4th best team in the conference.

If he gets traded to LA, it will be the Clippers.

Woj & Shams already out there creating the market for Brooklyn.  ::)

Please say they keep the Celtics names out of their dang mouths.

Hot off the wire, sources report the Nets would accept Brown & Tatum for Simmons and Irving.
Sources are on the record wondering "who says no"?

Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

I think it would make a great article. Hope somebody talks to some players and writes it up. I’d like to know too.

off the cuff some Irving trades that in theory make sense

Irving for Paul, Crowder

Irving, Mills for Westbrook, the picks

Irving for Powell, Covington, Coffey

Irving for Russell

Irving for Hardaway, Bertans, 1st

Good ideas mo. I could see Minnesota, Phoenix or Dallas deal happening. Dallas actually seems perhaps most likely cause they are a little desperate to get luka a sidekick.

OK, I will buy that the Suns are a possibility.  It works straight up:

Kyrie
for
Paul and Crowder

Adds about $2M to Nets cap.  They could send back some min level player if they wanted to make the money work to not add salary.

Could Chris Paul continue playing for 3 more years and then retire with Durant?

Not sure the Lakers can beat that trade.

Paul, in addition to being unable to stay healthy, has fallen off a cliff. The suns are one of the worst teams in league when he plays without Booker.

Two poor defenders at the same position.

That sounds viable. That Suns trade is interesting too.

I don't think the Lakers deal is realistic. They're going to want a player that can actually help them this season. If they didn't owe Houston their pick this year, I could see them going for Russ + Picks.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

My guess is

Irving and Morris to the suns

Paul, Crowder, and 2 2nds to the Nets

The seconds are compensation for taking in Paul’s longer term deal

In the off season Irving is then sign and traded to Lakers for Westbrook and a heavy protected 1st or multiple 2nds.  Chris Paul retires and Kevin Durant is traded putting the Nets into a rebuild. Could see Durant joining Dame in Portland.

He reminds me of Ricky Bobby’s father.

Who would actually trade for him when he will walk this summer? Only a desperate team like the Lakers would do it. If Marks could swindle them he should do it.

I could see Lakers management very reluctant to offer both first round picks until Lebron pressured them to do so. Then the negotiations turning on the amount of protections. Bkln obviously fighting to make them both unprotected. I can see this happening.

I didn't do any multi-team trades, but this one makes some sense

Toronto - Westbrook, Reaves, LAL 27, LAL 29
Brooklyn - VanVleet
Los Angeles - Irving, Anunoby

Makes sense for Lakers. Not for Toronto. They could far better than that for Anunoby alone.
