Lol.  That’s our Bruno replacement?

He fits Brad’s profile:  a former first rounder who can’t play.

Another first round bust Brad wants as a reclamation project.
Bench is freaking terrible.

How many bench spots are open? 3?

So the roster is

Tatum
Brown
Brogdan
Williams
Williams
Smart
White
Al
Pritchard
Hauser
Kornet
Kabengale

Then three more of the garbage camp invites:
I will go with:

Layman
Vonleah
Jackson

Valentine, Luka kick rocks

Having to play Hauser and Kornet regular important rotation minutes is a scary proposition. Neither are ready nor good enough for that.

Look at any other team in the league. Subtract a starter and a rotation player. Now look at who’s left on their roster at the 11-15 slots. How many of them are proven NBA players? My guess is nearly all of them are Vonleh/Kornet caliber players or young guys hoping for a shot.

What team is deeper? Maybe GSW? No way to duplicate what they did: have a top-5 player and a top-50 player go down to injury, tank into a couple of top picks, then get their aces back.

Problem is most team don’t have to count on guys 11-15. Boston is going to have to get minutes from Hauser and Kornet…important minutes.

It’s obvious Brad is taking the Miami heat route of finding young players that are marginal NBA talent as well as has beens and never weres and trying to strike gold ala Struss, Robinson, Martin, etc.

Samanic Is interesting. Could need to be in the right situation to be decent. I Hope Boston keeps him over Vonleah.

This kid is only 22. Marcus needs to get after Lka and bring out some crazy effort.

Yep. He has the most upside of anyone they are bringing in. To me he would be a better option than Vonleah.

He looks skilled and from what I can read up on he needs to bring it every second on the court. He's so young that he could still be a player.

"Overall: Luka Samanic is an extremely talented combo forward … On paper he can do just about everything on the offensive end of the floor and this is the main reason there has been so much buzz around him the last couple of years … At the same time, his questionable motor is probably the biggest concern … If he manages to stay motivated and focused, the future could be bright for him, since he has all the necessary tools to become a very good player …

Notes: Measured 6′ 9.5” barefoot,  6′ 11” in shoes, 227.2 lbs,  6′ 10.5” wingspan, and 8′ 11” standing reach at the 2019 NBA Draft Combine …"

His G-League stats last year were pretty ridiculous for a 6’10 forward who just turned 22.  28/10.5/3 as part of the 50/40/90 club.  There’s some talent there.

This clip perfectly encapsulates why the Spurs cut Šamanić loose so early and most likely why the Knicks didn’t re-sign him after playing for their G-League affiliate.

Career lowlight: traded for a washing machine

These three guys seem very similar: Jake Layman, Justin Jackson, or Luka Samanic.
