They released players 26-100.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34626241/nbarank-2022-ranking-best-players-2022-23-25-11

Celtics
#99 Grant Williams
#87 Malcolm Brogdon
#70 Al Horford
#58 Robert Williams
#34 Marcus Smart
#22 Jaylen Brown
?? Jayson Tatum

Both Brown and Tatum will be top 25, probably top 20.

7 top 100 players is pretty awesome especially since 5 are home drafted and grown players.

As I said in another post, this doesn't add up for me.  If you consider a hypothetical average team, the best player would be the 15th best in the league (average for 1-30), the second best would be 45th best in the league (average for 31-60 and so on.  The 99th best in the league would be between the 3rd and 4th best on this hypothetical average team.

Grant is probably 8th or 9th on our team but we are better than an average team.  I would place Grant as more of a 6th man on an average team.  That would put him at 165th in the league.  If he was the best 6th man in the entire league, he would be 151st in the league.  I know it doesn't work this way in reality, it is just a way to get a feel for what "99th best" might mean.

I know these player rankings are subjective and difficult.  And I can't name the 50 or 60 or so specific players that could be ahead of him but 99th seems too high for him but yes, that is a pretty good roster for a team that is unwilling to spend money.  And if Grant is 99th, Gallinari should not be far behind (I would have Gallinari ahead of Grant).

Lots of quality in the 4-7 spot of the C's rotation, it is the back end of the roster that needs work, especially since Tatum and Brown aren't going to be the uber elite type players at the top.

I found the two main Bucks interesting (excluding Giannis obvioulsy since he will be at or near the top).  Holiday at 26 and Middleton at 31.  Last year Middleton was 19 and Holiday was 22.  That seems a bit strange that they think Holiday is better than Middleton.

Kyrie all the way down to 33 is also a bit strange to me.  Sure he is a bit crazy and he may just miss a week here or there, but his talent seems like he should be higher than 33.  For a similar, though different reason, I think Zion at 40 is really low.  He obviously has an immense injury risk, but if he can play at least half the season, his impact is going to be incredible.  He should be much higher than 40.  Simmons goes from 28 last year to 70 this year.

How is Jordan Clarkson ahead of Brogdon.  Really weird.

They are making some strange assumptions on these things.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

If Gallo was on the list, big if, he most likely got edited out because of his injury.

Next set of rankings came out today. Jaylen came in at #22, which I think is low. For next year, I would definitely take him over the 3 guys ahead of him, Chris Paul, Anthony Davis and Bradley Beal.

Also, no Tatum which makes him a top 10 player.

Now the game becomes predict the correct order of the top 10.  My guess:

1. Giannis
2. Luka
3. Jokic
4. Embiid
5. Curry
6. LeBron
7. Tatum
8. Durant
9. Morant
10. Booker

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Lebron really sticks out like a sore thumb on that list. It’s all 50 win teams outside of his 33 win lakers ( and also Durant)!and you expect him to miss some time and play less minutes this year.

No way are they going to put the 2-time reigning MVP at third.

2nd at worst. Giannis probably pips him, but it's really a toss-up

I don’t think even lebrons biggest fan could put him ahead of Luka with a straight face.

We're talking Disney/ESPN/ABC that all need Lebron as a top 3 player in this league. I trust them to push Lebron hard to keep the Lakers relevant. They NEED that LA market caring about the Lakers.

I agree they want to push him, but there is a certain point that it is just silly. Above luka is the kind of thing that becomes a bad meme for them. If Lebron is too 3 I will gladly give you 5 Tommy points.

Here is the CBS list

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-top-100-player-rankings-giannis-stephen-curry-kevin-durant-vie-for-no-1-lebron-james-slips/

C's
100 - Grant
65 - Horford
62 - Brogdon
56 - Rob
45 - Smart
19 - Brown
9 - Tatum

Their list overall makes a heck of a lot more sense to me than the ESPN one.  Not just the C's, but top to bottom.

Their top 10 were in order
Giannis
Curry
Durant
Jokic
Doncic
Embiid
Lebron
Kawhi
Tatum
Butler

I don't really have any issue with that.

That top 10 is embarrassing. Curry and Durant ahead of Jokic should be a fireable offence for whoever wrote that
