I would love to know how the hell Mahomes is only 8th here after what he did yesterday.

PFF's highest-graded QBs in Week 1 so far

1. Josh Allen - 91.5
2. Kirk Cousins - 85.1
3. Ryan Tannehill - 81.1
4. Justin Herbert - 79.8
5. Jameis Winston - 79.6
6. Lamar Jackson - 76.8
6. Jalen Hurts - 76.8
8. Patrick Mahomes - 71.5
9. Tom Brady - 70.0
10. Davis Mills - 68.1
i guess those 9 passes he missed, must have been terrible throws.

In all seriousness, I have often found the rankings they have to be strange.  I mean how can a guy go 30-39 for 360 yards, 5 TD's, and 0 INT's, whose team crushed their opponent, not be the best QB.  It is just weird.

Maybe they discounted his performance because he was handing the ball off with the wrong hand.

Ouch, Russell Wilson with the warm reception, getting massive boos from Seahawks fans. Hostile crowd tonight.

Fiery!

The longevity thing is what will end up getting most guys.  How many football players will a) actually want to play to their mid 40s b) play at a Pro Bowl caliber if they do reach their 40s?  This on top of already having nearly two decades of hall of fame play preceding that.

Never say never.  We're heading towards to an 18 game schedule at some point so the extra games will help but I don't know how many quarterbacks will play 20+ seasons and do it at a high enough level to reach Brady.
I just don't think they will need to play 20+ seasons to do it.  I guess that is the difference.  17 years might be enough and while that doesn't happen all that often, it isn't all that rare either.  Guy obviously has to stay healthy and produce at a high level, but we are seeing more and more incredible games and seasons from QB's.
How many QBs have started and thrown for that many yards for 17-18 seasons?

There's only been 14 5000+ passing yard regular seasons in NFL history. But suddenly we are going to get a guy doing it for 17 straight seasons to beat Brady's record, which might go even higher because, as I said earlier, who knows? Brady might play until he's 50.

Is it possible? Sure? It's probably as likely as getting hit by lightning.....twice......6 months apart......while underground in a subway .....in two different cities. But it's possible.

I kid but it's not really likely unless the league goes to 18 games, a 20 team playoff, and changes the rules more to protect QBs from getting hurt as often and TEs, RBs and WRs from getting roughed up without interference calls. 17-18 straight years of playing every game is hard to see happening again. It may. But I don't expect to see it in my lifetime.

Geno Smith looking like the GOAT, well not the GOAT, he missed a pass.

I mean seriously who is this guy.  17 of 18, 164 yards, 2 TD's, and the Seahawks are up 17-13 on the Broncos.

Lumen Field is insane. My TV volume isn't even that high and I can barely hear the ESPN color commentary, but what a raucous loud crowd...that decibel really something else. A true home-field advantage for Seattle.

Hackett is getting killed for the end of game.  I thought it was the right call.

I was curious on denver kicker from this distance. Doesn’t seem he has been very successful on these kicks

Hackett is getting killed for the end of game.  I thought it was the right call.

People are focusing on the FG attempt, but the entire last possession for Denver was horribly played. There was one dropped pass, a couple of bad overthrows from Wilson, and two plays where Denver completed a pass for a gain and could've gone out of bounds to stop the clock but didn't, each time costing themselves about 25 seconds of game clock.

I mean, they got the ball on their own 22 with 4:02 left and all three timeouts available, plus the 2-minute warning, plus Seattle called two timeouts (one for a measurement challenge, one for an injured player). They needed only a field goal to win, and they needed to go only about 45-50 yards to have a reasonable FG attempt. And they just couldn't do it.
