Probably have to leave off Larry and be representative of all sports:

Russell
Brady
Williams
Orr

I gave some consideration to Papi over Williams due to titles, but Williams’ individual dominance was just too much.

As difficult as it is to leave Larry Legend off I think I agree with this.

I'd put 4 Bill Russells on it.

What about Red Auerbach or is this only for players?

Russell
Williams
Brady
the next is toughest, since I don't follow hockey, I would add Red.

Each of those men changed the game they were involved with.  I grew up watching Teddy Ballgames/The Splendid Splinter, he was truly amazing with a bat.

Yeh.  Larry is my all time favorite, but I think these 4 are probably the greatest for their respective teams.  Although Teddy is the only one who never won a title.

I agree with with Orr, Russell and Brady. The Sox one is tough because it's the oldest franchise and it had so much success in the very early 1900's

Babe Ruth and Roger Clemens were the two best pitchers in franchise history. Williams and Papi the two best hitters. But Ruth and Ortiz were the main reasons for winning multiple titles while Clemens and Ted won none.

Probably stick with Williams but, IMHO, it's really, really close between a few Sox players.

Many people have Bird ahead of Russell on all time lists, wouldn't that mean it should be Bird.
