It just occurred to me that there is probably plenty to pros for a Kyrie Irving-Ben Simmons trade. Will the stakeholders involved go for it?
As long as Kyrie refuse the jab, I doubt trading him to Philly would change his stance.
but he doesn't need the jab to play in Philly at this point in time.

Well he wouldn’t be able to play in a playoff series against the nets for any road games. He has also said he would retire if he was traded anywhere (and people seem to believe him). He also only has one year left on his contract. The 76ers also said they were not interested in this. Aside from all that it could work.

Cavs could be a little feistier than I expected. Allen and Mobley look pretty good. Weird love is playing here.

Edit: I think they should trader one of garland or Sexton. Don’t like the fit.

Evan Mobley with 6 pts and 4 rebs in 26 mins of play...  :-X

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Not sure what your point is. Stats in preseason pretty irrelevant. He looked athletic out there. Think he could be solid. Could still be awful. Regardless you can learn a little from watching maybe.

He'll need to spend his rookie season eating food.

I don't know why Cleveland extended Allen to then draft Mobley. Mobley is a 5 - don't ruin him by forcing him to play on the perimeter

Guess lack of production would be the point. The rebounds more than the scoring. 7’ center can only muster 4 rebounds in 26 mins of play? Wasn’t impressed with him in summer league either. Cavs should have drafted Suggs.

Players on road teams can play in NY even if unvaccinated.  Kyrie can't play at the Knicks, because his home is in NYC, but other players can play if they are unvaccinated against both the Knicks and Nets.

I wouldn't want to deal with Kyrie if I was Philly (of course I didn't want to deal with Kyrie for the 2 years he was in Boston when his quirks were less known nationally), but if he somehow bought in it could work on the court as I do think he and Embiid would make a nice 1, 2 punch.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The Cavs played him as a perimeter-oriented power forward for a lot of last night, which is why the pick was questioned given they intended to commit to Allen.

Yeah, the Cavs have a very strange roster, offensive oriented guards that are bad (or awful) defenders, and defensive oriented big men that can't shoot.  They need to figure out who they actually like and try to consolidate.  They do have a nice young core though if they figure it out.

Bigs - Allen, Mobley, Markannen
Wings - Okoro
Guards - Sexton, Garland

That is a lot of very recent high draft picks (5 in the top 8 and then Allen).  They don't seem to fit very well together though, and that is the probably with always drafting BPA, at some point you have to actually decide.

Half of Harden's game is gone without being able to draw those cheap fouls.

It's only preseason but the Nets look terrible on defense.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully they implode.
