Wish Terry would have been dealt.

And not sure who Boston gets in the buyout market. Ellington looks like he is going to be a Piston

Kanter is 26, him on the MLE making $5,337,000 is not only nice filler, but an attractive piece.

Comical. Everyone in the East improves by a huge margin but Boston....who is pretty much just waiting on
AD.

Really a very frustrating thing to see....an no I do not think they can win the east as constructed. Bench is a liability.

While the assets that were going to be used in a deal are declining in value.

That Clippers pick and memphis pick AND the sacramento pick have all lost value.

So Danny will have to sell the farm to try and get Davis...

This can be crippling to franchise long term...

How in the world did the memphis pick lose value? They didn't get any young prospects or anyone that can help them in the next year. Their one young piece is jackson.

The Memphis pick we got is a golden egg IMO.

No way the Pels will agree to an AD trade without that Memphis pick.

NOP will want every single pick, and at least 2 young pieces, and salary to match.

but that pick will not convey for 3 years.
if we can get away with just giving Tatum and Williams as the young pieces and throwing in Kanter/Ellington for salary matching, they can have the picks (assuming the ones we make this year are for NO's benefit).

Adding Davis to Kyrie, Brown, Smart, Horford, Healthier-Hayward is a [dang] good core to fight for a title.  Keeping Baynes, Theis and Morris helps that frontcourt and possibly Rozier to solidify the backcourt.

NO will want Brown too. We need to beat Laker offer.

I don't think Ainge will give up both Brown and Tatum.

Tatum and 4 1st rounders will be enough to beat the Laker offer.

Disagree. Hope you’re right though.

i am perfectly fine with danny holding his chips. as much as the other teams have improved, the celtics had no need for that, as our roster out-talents 1-10 all the others, it is just a matter of team chemistry, and IMHO that is being sorted out as we type. we are balling right now with a upward tendency.

i just hate the AD talk, and how much is it affecting the young guns.

question: the celtics win the championship with this team. does adding AD still becomes the A plan, and includes giving up most of the young core and picks.

If i were danny, Tatum, Horford, Hayward, and Kyrie are off limits, if that is not enought, move on, there are plenty of great FA next summer to put us in a great position.

I cannot see keeping all of those guys, thats too deep into lux tax hell.

For one, I cannot see Marcus wanting to take less money and come off the bench. Rozier as well.

Theis sure.

Celts can go deep into lux tax territory for 5 seasons.
After that it's lux tax hell.

Sooner than that.

Anyone else sad there wasn't a Rozier trade...?

Yep. He is not the Scary Terry he used to be.

I dont know, I feel afraid every time he steps on the court.

Sources: Despite dealing Jabari Bird, the Boston Celtics will not avoid the luxury tax this season. Boston is now likely to use their MLE to sign a player to a big two-year deal, with the idea of having the second season as part of salary matching in a trade for Anthony Davis.

It means we don't want to trade Smart to NOP

well that is obvious, I cannot see Brown being a part of the deal either.

Need brown cause Hayward will be offered for Durant.

Oh yeah, its a thing.

Durant is going to want out, GS will not want him joining Lebron and will look to sign and trade.

If team gets Davis, it will happen

Is it a thing like us trading for Vuvecic was a thing? Because sign and trades under the new CBA are hard to pull off since it requires the player to give up the birdrights max.

Vucevic wasnt a thing, just what I felt team should do.

Durant doesnt have to opt out, he can opt in and demand a trade then resign here in 2019.

anything is possible

Ironically, the Starters on NBA-TV are calling the Celtics one of the winners at the trade deadline because they now they're seen as the favorites to get AD.

it has totally slipped my mind. This is not a good role for him, and i apsolutely hate his defence or lack of it.
is it possible to involve him in the AD package via S&T. I know that the new CBA makes it really hard to S&T but i don't really know why.

How worried are people here about what the other East teams did?

Maybe I'm delusional, but I still think Boston can beat all these teams. I don't know. Without LeBron, there's just no team I think offers an insurmountable challenge.
