He dribbles like a guard.  :D
People say that KD and such dribble as guards, but this is another level.
Plus the swagger.
I love it.

I'm trying to limit my expectations for him, considering he isn't even 21 until March, but my goodness is he good. The way we were able to get him makes it even sweeter, especially if we can pair him with another Dukie like Zion or Barrett

Whenever he had the ball, I was thinking about those tapes of him going up against Embiid at Drew Hanlon's camp this summer.  He is not intimidated by Embiid, and he benefited greatly by practicing with him.

Tatum was key to our victory and I think that he is the dark horse to be our leading scorer.   Logic tells me it will Kyrie but  Tatum may be the guy.

The real thing I like about Tatum is he is not passive.   He is always attacking and seems to embrace a challenge.   In some ways, he is the opposite to Ben Simmons in this regard, who seems content to let the game come to him.

He has the whole offensive package at 6-9 . Footwork ,deceptive speed .

Tatum and Brown are a load to stop offensively.

They are going to get even better .

Bad news for the rest of the league

Tatum is growing into a naturally smooth, confident offensive weapon. All at the ripe old age of 20. What he'll be like at 25 is anyone's guess.

By the end of the year, he'll be the guy we go to when we need a basket.

Already the best player on the team. Slam dunk superstar in the making.

What I noticed the most last night (and in pre-season) is how quickly he is getting his shot off.  That is hard to do, especially with such a high release point.

Deadspin is basically clickbait oxexcrement, but even they recognize real.

We just beat one of the best teams in the league and Kyrie / GH had an off night.

We did this because both Tatum and JB are still getting better..

Great time to be a Celtic Fan.

The beauty of this team is it doesn't have to have a number 1.  Any one of Kyrie, Gordon, Tatum, Brown, and even Rozier could have a match up they could dominate on any given night and be the team's top scoring option.  Last night the mismatch was all on Jayson and he took advantage of it.  It won't be so easy on Friday if they put Kawhi on him, but that leaves Hayward and Brown with advantages they can dominate.

This need to elevate the kid to the hall of fame right away is ludicrous.  Just enjoy the ride, folks.

This is not news, we almost and should have swept the Sixers without these two earlier in the year.

I just read on the Ringer that "Simmons was the best player on the floor on Tuesday, with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting, 15 rebounds, and eight assists." In the game I watched Tatum was the best player on the floor with 23 points 9 rebounds 3 assist in 29 minutes. Simmons stayed on the floor in garbage time to pad his stats and played 43 minutes in what became a blowout. If you didn't watch the game and just looked at the box score maybe you could thing Simmons had a better game.

He's getting a lot of hype by people who are selectively forgetting what a liability he was in the playoffs last year.  He is an amazing player, but unless he develops some semblance of an outside shot, he will always be a liability. He's almost useless in half court offenses.

Simmons also seems to be a stat padder. Players that would rather get some crazy stats than win games.

If I never saw Tatum or Simmons play before and watched only last night’s game, I would think that Simmons was the better player.  I would think that maybe Tatum was hitting his shot and had a better game due to the outcome, but Simmons looked pretty awesome in areas other than shooting.  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone better on a fast break.  He passes like Magic and finishes like Lebron.  Pretty unstoppable in that situation.

Simmons will be much easier to stop in the playoffs. Simmons played 14 more minutes than Tatum and went to the line 11 times, all Celtics only shot 14 free throws combined.

Did folks note that lack of assertiveness the whole first quarter, I did.

Simmons is clearly on the league list to subsidize his production with FTAs.   The refs let him get away with a lot and gave him a lot of star calls when he missed shots.

There have been innumerable players who can’t shoot who still found other ways to simply strike fear in you as an opposing fan. Jordan averaged 37 shooting below 20% from deep on less than an attempt a game.
It isn’t merely his lack of shooting that is stopping him from being a top-10 player in the league. I think it’s partly mental too, which has been a criticism since his LSU days

No one said Simmons isn't going to be a really good, or possibly great, player someday.  It's just that Tatum has elite scoring talent and those guys generally end up higher on all-time lists.
