Germany must get this done. Early goal against Brazil is a must to open up the game.

GO GERMANY!!!!

Not exactly what I called, but.... pretty Klose ;D

Yeah, that was a Lahm-slide victory.

I'm guessing you guys will be here all week  ;)

That £50 million Chelsea got for David Luiz is looking mighty good right now. 8)

it depends
Bernard has cost 25m.  At least Luiz is a real football player

only... 6 more hours to go.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Hoping Holland beat Argentina today.

Not a fan of this Argentina team. Loved many of their past teams but never warmed to this group. Do not like how they play. I think it's the lack of quality in midfield that turns me off them. Without that quality in central midfield, different parts of the team aren't well linked together. Team is too segmented.

Impressed by Holland. I thought they'd get knocked out in group stage. So many little known players from Dutch league. I didn't think they'd be able to contribute enough to give their star players the assistance they needed. Holland have done phenomenally well. Probably the least talented group of players they have had in last 20 years. Hoping this Cinderella story continues.

Defensive team for Argentina. Looks like they are going to take a more cautious approach and hope that Messi can seal the deal with a moment of brilliance.

Mascherano + Bigilia + Perez as midfield trio. Along with four at the back.

Only three players on the pitch who are really attacking players. Messi, Lavezzi and Higuain.

Any squad with Robben and Van Persie is a threat.  Those are two of the best right there.

Looks like De Jong will man mark Messi. Good decision.

Nobody in that midfield trio who can take advantage of that space in behind forwards that De Jong will potentially leave exposed when man marking Messi. Lavezzi looks only option. We'll see if Messi pulls out wide and lets Lavezzi try to attack that space.

Holland struggling to create anything. Argentina look very solid at back. Defending in numbers.

Argentina look the more threatening side.

Garay is fantastic at attacking crosses on corners. Unlucky.

30,000 posts, congrats Who

great game so far, fun to watch
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Ugh ... Higuain was wide open! Terrible cross by Rojo. Blew best chance of match so far.

Messi having large influence. Dutch trio are quiet.

The Dutch are great in the second halves in this tournament. So i hope we will be better in the second half because it's not looking good after a solid start.

I guess I'm alone with that opinion, the german pundits called it a boring game.
