Godzilla: King of the Monsters

A great cinematic experience. I had a great time watching this, and can't wait to see it again. There was one eye rolling story line (Dr. Emma Russell's motivation), but it never took me out of the movie.

G2.  It was pretty awesome but a bit too much human silliness toward the end.  That said I need to see it again to absorb it all

Funny you should ask. Just finished watching Speilburg's "Empire of the Sun". on cable TV. Magnificent. Have seen it before, but you run across it on TV, you have to see it again. One of his greatest films.

Bad Times at the El Royale...I liked it.

The director Drew Goddard has probably written something you liked. His credits are Daredevil for Netflix,  The Martian,  and World War Z.

The music is wonderful,  IMO.  Set in 1969 so you are listening to great 60s classics.

The movie itself plays like a Tarantino film. The only minor complaint is the 2hr and 20 minute run time. It might need to be 20 minutes shorter.

I finally watched Green Book. It was good but shouldn't have won the Oscar imo.

Viggo did an excellent job.

Mahershala Ali has had a big year. I always thought he was good on The 4400...I'm glad his getting to show his talents.

Secret Life of Pets. A pretty obvious cash grab of a sequel.  It’s got some good moments, but I think they stretched 45 minutes of material into a 90 minute movie.

But, the kids liked it.

The Founder

Never I though that a story about a fastfood chain would be so interesting.

Godzilla 2.

Just, awful. Truly awful.

Mahershala's taking over for Wesley Snipes' Blade character as well, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He's got HUGE shoes to fill but I'm sure he's going to do well.
