Yeah, I like Tucker's physical toughness with this group. Nice guy to pit against the power 3s/quick 4s that are too much for Parsons.

Snively, you've been doing nice work this draft. Real recognizes real.

The Magic putting together a killer team.

Yeah, I just now realized LeBron James and Paul George are both in my division.

[shakes fist in disgust]

Really great mix of talents. Love having dynamic shot creators like Tyreke and Puppy Mills to balance out the 3/D Bazemore/Beverley tandem. Then getting a defender like Mahinmi to back up Jokic.

Worried a bit about your PF spot, but there's some good talent out there to shore that up.

Another concern that just came to me is Vogel and how he struggled to optimize a similar roster with Indy last year (with Monta and Tyreke in similar roles). But I think Jokic does a lot to alleviate that. Indy didn't have anybody like him last year. The passing and post-up game. Should alleviate some of the pressure on the backcourt.

I love the contrast of Beverley / Mills.

Beverley more of a stopper, a defensive orientated PG. Then Patty Mills with a burst of offense and 3 pointers off the bench. Great change of style options.

Mills will work great next to Tyreke Evans as well. Worked very well off of Manu Ginobili when Ginobili was creating off the dribble. Comfortable off the ball.

I love the fit. The chemistry. Of those relationships.

I wanted to wait til this afternoon before I put my team out there to be critiqued:

Toronto Raptors

Guards: Steph Curry, Marcus Smart, Ray Allen
Wings: Paul Pierce, Jaylen Brown
Bigs: B. Lopez, Bobby Portis, Ersan Illyasova, KG

I could use another useful wing, backup center, and backup pg. Picks 8.2 and 10.2 are available.

Any thoughts on this team so far?

As much as I absolutely love the big 3 reunion, I think you reached on all 3 of them. I'm a big fan of the Smart/Curry backcourt, and I like how Lopez fits next to Ilyasova/Portis. I think you need a good 3 and D wing, one of your 3's is too young and the other is too old  ;D

Smart will benefit hugely from playing with Curry - will open up all kinds of lanes for him and allow him to be a much better playmaker than he's been so far.

And the Curry Lopez pick and roll will be deadly. Lopez is an incredible finisher out of pick and roll.

My issues are the defensive issues you've got popping everywhere in your frontcourt. Lopez really slow and a bad fit with other slow guys (Pierce, Ersan).

Then going so green with Portis and Jaylen - both guys not ready for featured roles at this point in their careers.

I agree with your thoughts at SF. I do think people are largely pessimistic of Jaylen Brown's ability. I think that he can come in and play defense today. I will roll out more of my team philosophy during the Press Conferences, but when JB is put on a leash (ie passing to a shooter like Steph instead of taking the 3), he can be a useful player, especially if he and Smart are both guarding the other team's best scorers.

The Big 3 are old, so they won't be playing much until the playoffs (not even 20 mpg). They are on limited minutes to mentor the young players. Given this experience, Smart and Brown should be able to come in off the bench to contribute high energy minutes in the playoffs.

Is it just me or does the the quality of the backup PGs kinda stink from here on out?

I had no idea how much weaker the PG position his now vs a few years ago.

Very solid, deep team. Good combo of shooters/scorers (Korver, Jennings, Knight, Johnson), Low post bigs (Monroe, Big Al), and defense (Ibaka, Sefolosha, Iggy, Gibson). I worry about the lack of star power, who is your go to guy in crunch time?

Yup, meanwhile the quality of back-up bigs is the strongest I've seen it.
